Independent movie or not, I think this could be a lot more.. epic.
The camera style seems almost documentary and the fight scene angles are just cheesey.

This movie needs a new DP.

Link's costume annoys me. While its true to the one from the games, it just doesn't fit for a "serious" movie. It has too much of a cartoony feel to it.

I agree the bashees should be bashed, but not to be bashed as much as they have been bashed in this bashing thread.

What I mean is, sure, they're an independant film stuff. But they're doing it for fun for the most part. I don't like Link's costume at all or anything, but the movie its self looks pretty neat actually.

This two minute trailor can beat some of the crap people call movies that was made in the 80's.

On an unrelated note, I finished the Legend of Zelda questline in World of Warcraft yesterday. I got Linken's Sword and Boomerang.

The costume's too cartoony.

-But the fight scene choreography's pretty good for a fan film. Almost as good as Duality.

i saw a picture of someone in a costume the photo was captioned "Link: The Real Hero of Time" and it was an interesting version of link

but it was before those movies were released

doesn't look tooooooo bad for an indie low budget film.

I still think that they should make a big buget Zelda movie and make it well.

Ocarina of Time isn't epic. It's the opposite of epic. The whole world has a confined, cozy feel about it.

Needs to be rougher, grittier. Like the one from Twilight Princess. You know, with a more worn, lived-in look.

That is no major feat though. XD


But I think I'm going to have use a Jack Sparrow quote here: "There are two things a man must know, what a man can do, and what a man can't do."

In this case they must know that the Legend of Zelda can't work as a live action movie. Especially concidering we're dealing with a main character who doesn't say anything beyond "Sai!" "Hah!" "Tah!" "Seeeiyaaa!" and "Waaaaaah!". Having him say any more would ruin the character. XD

Oh I dunno, she only featured in one game, two if you count the Wii version of Twilight Princess, in which she's a glorified cursor. But Link has always been a silent character, making him talk is like making Zaphod Beeblebrox a silent character.

Navi might only be in one game; but this is supposed to be based on that one game, right?

Notice how the preview didn't feature any creatures or other races. No gorons, no zoras, no dekus, stalfos, giant hands or amorphous aquatic blobs... Nothing!
