ATARI Anniversary Edition
2004-06-21, 3:57 PM #1
I just bought the ATARI Anniversary Edition (as stated in the title) and I have to say it's quite fun. If you don't know who/what ATARI is, they're the creators of the fun, older games, such as: Asteroid, Battlezone, Centipede, and... PONG! (I know somebody here is obsessed with that game [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]) Well, this package includes those games, and many, many more for your Arcade experience! If you love the classics, I suggest you pick it up. Should work on any system too.

Hey, the original Pong machine can run on batteries. That's mobility that today's consoles just don't have!

I have not yet found 5 people that have even heard of the Amiga 32 [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif].

I've heard of it!

That's 2, 3 more to go....

How about the Odyssey2 by Magnavox? I can't say I've ever found one person whose heard of that.

I used to love that thing... but it had this nasty habit of not working all the time, I eventually stopped playing that, and moved on to the Atari we once owned.

I remember when Nintendo first came out, and it was like 200 dollars, well we had a church bizzare and they had one for sale, with like 10 games, everyone was playing it. I wake up the next morning and my come to find out my grandpa bought it for me. I had a total of like 50 games, then my mom hid the nintendo and FORGOT WHERE SHE HID IT, then she GAVE AWAY all of our games. I just found the nintendo a few months ago [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif] WOrld Cup was in it, then i found Gauntlet II mint condition in box with manuel. To bad the nintendo doesnt work.

I can vaguely remember a double game cartridge for the NES with Mario and Duck Hunt on... Duck Hunt was a pretty fun lightgun game and mario... i can't really remember mario, i think the mario series fizzled out a long long time ago with the NES.

Please tell me you're being sarcastic, Septic.

Anyways, I can actually remember when the Sega Master System came out. Heck, I dunno if we still have it, but we recorded "The Karate Kid" when it made it's big world television premiere(sp?), commercials and all. One of the commercials was one for the Master System. It would be kinda amusing to watch the commercial again.

Oh, DrkJedi82, answer one question for me. Why do you have the hellspawn ET, yet not the classics like Galaga and River Raid?

I see the ET game. Didn't, after a horrible sales disaster, Atari decided to take the remaining ET games and bury them underground?

..or is that a rumor...

I heard its true. They took them to this big landfill in New mexico, smashed them up, and buried them.

have you seen the prices for atari games on ebay?

anyway the long story i said i'd post later...

Once long ago, before i was born, my parents purchased an Atari 2600 for my sister (and themselves). By the time I was born there was a considerable game collection which I sometimes played later on after i became old enough to hold the controller. Many years later I started to gain my own personal collection of games then at some point my sister decided to keep her Atari at her boyfriend's house and asked if he could borrow my games, after a bit of arguing my mom said to let him borrow them... to end the long story they broke up and she never got the Atari back... I've had to repurchse everything I had and the only 3 I had in my personal collection but haven't found yet are Superman, Mario Bros., and River Raid

it's very true... in fact part of the sales disaster was the combined suck of the game itself and the overproduction of the game... more copies of the game were made than the number of Atari 2600s in existance
