Kid in high school? Please, Emon. If you want to start a flame war, do the research first.

I'll resign from the argument by suggestion from multiple massassians (Who will not be named) who agree that Bill is too absorbed in what he does to listen to anyone.

Thanks for the tip, Gold. I'm definatly checking that out.

What compressors should I be using in Virtual Dub? It was suggested that I used the Cinepark codec by Radius but I'm getting huge files.

The video is a 1.5 minute trailer at 720x480. Best weight I got yet was at 200mb and that was at 50% quality.

XviD is excellent, although if you are going to be playing under a controlled environment, and have a lot of time to spare, x264 might be worth looking into also.

I tried compiling from source and it was a pain. Trying to find all the stupid dependencies just to compile, then make install not working. Grrr. :(
I got it to work via binaries by following this site. ;)

well... take your 200mb file, import it into win movie maker and then save the movie file as .wmv, that should work.

You know, I just tried that and managed to get a decent 12 mb file with ok quaiity for a game mod teaser trailer. Thanks again for the tip.

Note if you so chose to preview the following, this was done after 2 hours of my first time opening premiere and doing video editing AND it is not complete at all. There is no conclusion and transisions are mediocre at best.

What the HELL does that have to do with anything?

Ford

Natural faces would help at least for the blotchy skin.

I agree, faces in this game suck ***. Bethesda never managed good faces in their Elderscrolls series. They must all be really ugly people.

Yeah right. Premiere is next to useless.

Use Vegas or Avid.

I love you.

I've used Premiere and Final Cut Pro for over and year at school (we have both), and I can safely say Vegas blows them away. I can't stand Premiere or FCP. I've won several regional (and one state competition) film festivals using Vegas... it definitely gets the job done and is way more powerful than people realize.
