1999 Ford Taurus. $3,500. I got the pictures online, but mine looks exactly the same. It's a nice car. Clean interior, no scratches or dents at all, 6 CD changer (<3), it looks practically new. Even better is that we bought it from our mechanic who is replacing all the things that need replacing, and giving it a full inspection before he sells it to us with no extra charge. Post your car.

Gratz. Just be careful with it. We don't need another another "axle snapped and I burned all my face" thread. ;)

(That may not have come out exactly as I meant it. What I meant was I wish you safe driving and I hope you don't have any more accidents).

The same way you fit your penis inside a pencil sharpener. Easily.

Just be happy I didn't make a fat joke.

What? Bubbles? I said I got the pictures from online. Those aren't pictures of my car, but my car looks just like that (red, 99, taurus). Even if that was a picture of my car, I don't see how it doesn't look new.

I wouldn't have bought a Ford (let alone a Taurus) but congrats.

Out of all the Fords I looked up, the '99 Taurus got pretty good reviews compared to the other Ford cars, but the reason I purchased the car was because it drove smooth, it looked nice, and it's being bought from a trusted mechanic. It only has 60,000 miles on it too.

If it was a Mustang, they would be drooling over it.even though it would still be a Ford..and the Taurus just might have better reliability ratings anyway. :P

Enjoy your new ride! :)

Yes, because in addition to poor reliability I want high insurance and be less comfortable. No thanks.

I have a '98 Taurus. It's not terribly great. The car is known for an engine corrosion issue, where the corrosion clogs the heater core. Backflushing on a regular basis is a pain in the ***, but I suppose that's better than not having heat. The transmission is not very reliable; it tends to go quite often on a Taurus. Ford did issue some updates for the transmission, so if it does go, your mechanic could update it for you if it goes. The gas mileage is ok, nothing to brag about there. Your friends will also make fun of you for driving a car made for moms and grandmoms.

Well, at least it still runs. :psyduck:

I have a 1998 ford contour (the last year in the production line before it was axed)

All in all, it hasn't been a bad car, except a problem I've seen on quite a few contours is that the headlight lenses get milky and opaque after awhile, plus the interiors start showing their age really quickly after awhile (I've had to fix a lot of stuff in the passenger compartment).

Also, Ford can never do proper balance and alignment when they work on your wheels/tires.

My girlfriend just got a 99 Ford Taurus. I drove it around for a bit, it rides nice and all, but BOOOOORRRRRIIIIIIIIIIING. I remember having to really push the gas to go anywhere. Not to diss your car or anything, I'm sure it will do you fine. Especially with those low miles.

Heres my car, no replacement for displacement

Taurus are the ugliest things since bicycle shorts. Seriously. The inside is especially putrid.

Here's a sexy looking Ford - Falcon XR6 Turbo for the record - and mine in just over 2 months.

Sorry, but wrong :P The point of a car for me is pure enjoyment. Makes me happy, makes me smile, makes me feel good. There are very few things I would rather be doing over driving.
