11:27 PM CST. Scratch that, 11:28.

I, Zloc Vergo, am starting my first all night journey just for the hell of it. I've got a Pepsi in hand, no weariness in my eyes, and 12 hours to go until I've been awake 24 hours. I'm gonna game the night away with a Blizzard game, either Starcraft or Warcraft 3, not sure which. This is the first time I've pulled an all nighter on my own playing a game, and I'm somewhat excited.

Anyway, while I was leaning towards SC, WC3 is starting to sound good because I just know WC3 better, and would like to get playing as fast as possible.

Anyway, post your all nighter or multi day experiences.

(I have never consumed Bawls or some energy drink to keep me awake, and I'm only having a Pepsi tonight)
I had a blog. It sucked.

I think I over drink energy drinks. I used to come home from work, drink a Red Bull and then fall right asleep.
Think while it's still legal.

One week, I pulled a few all nigthers at the end of a semester to finsih up a research paper, two lab reports and a presentation. Last all nighter I pulled was the night before a long plane flight so I could sleep on the plane.

I never could do that. I always got too tired 3-4 am. Doesn't matter what game it is, or how pumped you feel when going for it - it just gets boring and you would rather sleep.

I often stay up until the morning, but I have to sleep, or the next day is miserable. If I stay up past 3, I'll usually stay up until the sun comes up so I can sit on a chair on my lawn and watch it. Best time of day.

The last all nighter I pulled was about 34 hours or so. I had to make some posters for a presentation and my friend needed to make some for a conference. The plotter was not playing along nicely and I ended up staying up all night so he could get his poster ready fpr the conference. I managed to finish mine by 8 or so in the morning, went home, got dressed, and spent the rest of the day presenting my stupid poster. Needless to say, I was pretty cranky by the time it was done.

Forgot about the times I stayed up all night playing Enemy Territory.

Last all nighter I pulled was last Thursday. My friend and I worked on computer stuff all night.

Speaking of all nighters, does anyone remember that story about the kid who documented himself staying awake for 9 days straight, and at the end he was paranoid about vampires? Probably a hoax, but still a funny read.

Isn't the record 11 days?

I just alt-tabbed out of WC3 to see who was on MSN, brief chat with Monoxide.

And just 4 levels into WC3 I found that you can sound like a big tough paladin by saying:

FOUL MAEVE!
For honor!
For Lordaeron!

and all I've got to say is..

For shame, Arthas. FOR SHAME.
I had a blog. It sucked.

I pulled several all nighters WAAAY BACK WHEN when star wars galaxies was still fun and I was in the most active PVP guild on the server (Scylla) We would routinely end up attacking rebel bases at like 11 PM and stomping on the first base and going for the next bases, and so on. But by the time we got to the sixth or seventh base, somehow somebody discovered where we would be going, we would show up and find the entire rebel population of the server on that bases doorstep. I remember one time, we would just not give up. It ended up being that 4 other imperial guilds came along with us, and it was chaos. A group of us ended up splitting from the main force, and moved along from the front, up the side to the rear of the rebel force, and curbstomping the medics in the back. :ninja:

Everybody who has played WoW since the start and has actively participated in PVP, has known of the famous Southshore-Tarren Mill ping pong match of DOOM.
Basically, when the pvp honor system came out, everybody was trying to gain up in honor and rank as fast as possible. Now, I believe on the test server when the PVP patch was on there, somebody had decided to get a group of 30 people about level 30-40 together and go attack Tarren Mill. The horde that were in Undercity, saw in world defense that TM was under attack, and a bunch of level 60 horde players flew out from UC and went to TM, and proceded to curbstomp the level 30s and 40s, and then went on to smash Southshore in the face.

Now the level 60 alliance people hanging around in Ironforge just weren't going to have this, so they flew out to SS, formed up, and procedded to curbstomp TM. The horde saw this, flew back out there, and owned the few 60 alliance people that were left, and again, curbstomped Southshore. However, on Kel'thuzad when the patch hit, things just wouldn't go that one. Instead of having multiple zergs, that would go on at one time, there would be 2 zergs, going on at the same time. Basically, there was always level 60 horde in the zone, and level 60 alliance in the zone, and they would almost always be in a raid group, fighting in the middle. It was ridiculous. Bodies everywhere, both flightmasters were rarely up for more then like 15 minutes.

Boy, I miss world PVP. :(

So, this night, I've been drinking, partying, and ended up with my Chinese friend getting harassed by skinheads. Luckily, we've been able to pacify them, more or less. Hell, the bastards wanted to buy me drinks at some pub later. Which, of course, being the gentleman that I am, I refused.

Skinheads. Ugh.

Oh, sorry. This is about computer games?

Just about pulled an all nighter a few months ago at a friend's birthday party. He had a bunch of people over for the night. Funniest part of the whole thing was that he was the FIRST to crash and go to bed. AT NINE PM. Second guy crashed around 1 am. Third around 3am. Me and another guy were up until just about 6 the next morning then crashed. What's funny is the other guy had to be up at 7 30 for a school play rehersal, one in which he had to be singing. And he wouldn't get to go home until 3. He got a grand total of 1 hour of sleep.

Twas funny. We spent the whole damn night casually messing about in Battlefront 2, Halo, San Andreas, and Splinter Cell, watching RvB, and just talking about random crap.

And I discovered that my already deep voice gets even deeper the longer I stay up. :D

I woke back up around 10 30 to go home, showered and had a bowl of cereal, and then crashed in my bed for another 3 hours. And after all of that I promptly fell back into my nightly routine of staying up until 2 30 every night and then going to bed. :P

Only all-nighter I've pulled was during a party I threw at my house. Parents were on holiday and didn't mind, brother was out, so I had a ton of people over on the Friday. By the early hours of the morning, there was about 10 or so of us, spread out over the couches and floor around the TV. I was awake all through the night, with various other people crashing out or waking up at various points, keeping an eye on people and watching SpongeBob Squarepants. I hate SpongeBob so very much.

Around 10, everyone started waking up. After a quick clean-up of the obvious stuff (cans and bottles), they staggered out into the sunlight and off home. I spent a couple of hours cleaning up the house, spent the rest of the day...on here, I think :o I was up at 7 on the Friday for college, and went to bed around 10.30 Saturday night. So in all I was awake for about 34 hours.

Only other time I've ever done anything similar was actually the week before last. I'd been out in town and ended up getting home at 4 in the morning. It was getting light out, and birds were singing :o

I'm not really an all-nighter person, really. I just end up getting bored and going to sleep.

You shouldn't even be throwing a party if you crash at 9 :p

5:40 guys. Think I can make it to 11 without passing out (I feel pretty damn good)?

Hell, I'll try to go til 11 tonight so I can say 36 hours instead of 24.

I've pulled all-nighters playing FFXI recently, and I used to playing JKRPG.

Not that difficult, but it seems to get harder each time for me, especially around 2 am.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

I did allnighters before two of my final university exams. Then again, I didn't even start looking at the material for the first time before midnight.

OK, I am faced with a dillemma. I feel very little fatigue right now (it's all muscle, and very little there) at 30 1/2 hours. My goal is 36 hours, and I'll reach it at 11 PM CST (5:33 now).

Now, if I don't feel any fatigue at 36 hours, do I go for the 48 hours, or stop and rest to try again another day? I enjoyed the dark room partying that went on on my computer, the Pepsi that was consumed in a very conservative manner, the Warcraft and Newgrounds movies and games.

I dunno what to do guys. Go for it all, or rest and try again another day?

Pulled an all nighter at a friend's party once. About 4:30 AM, one of my friends hit me with a glove(winter season) and I gave him a light punch back and it just going back and forth. I had to go to church the next day and kept trying to drift off during it.

I need to do an all nighter again sometime.
No sig.

In the FFXI days, I would do my homework, sleep about 3 hours, then party with japanese people til about 4-5 in the morning. Then I'd sleep til 6:30 and get ready for school.

I don't think I ever pulled an all nighter. I think its retarded. I'd rather sleep and be fully awake and healthy all the time.

The first time I did that, it was for an all night Laser Quest lock-in. Now THAT is intense! After my next sleep, my legs screamed at me for a good two days.

Good luck getting any sleep when you are riding all through the night on an unairconditioned school bus with two people per seat.

Or when you're in a crowded CAP van riding to the bottom of the state to find and cut of some stupid alarm box in a crash landed airplane only to spend all night tramping through the woods because it had been already cut off and no one bothered to tell us, and there were 45 other CAP squadrons in the immediate area.

Dude, Laser Quest is freaking awesome! I need to get a group together and throw down at the one in Wichita. Oh yeah, and all-nighters can be quite fun, provided you have sufficient entertainment. Three-man Alpha Centauri LANs FTW.

You really shouldn't do this - it's not healthy. Your sleep cycle will get totally screwed up, it's bad for your eyes, etc. I've pulled a few all-nighters this year in order to finish school work (due to poor time managment) and they aren't cool. I guess some people are better able to take it than others, but it isn't healthy. And like...it isn't cool either. Nobody's going to be impressed that you played computer games all night.
