Major events occuring surrounding Winex today...
  • Website remade
  • Winex 4.0 released
  • Point2Play 1.3 released
  • Winex renamed to "Cedega", a type of grape
  • New forums (didn't happen today, but still recent)
  • DirectX 9 supported
  • Pixel Shader support added
  • And finaly, the site was slashdotted and the whole thing melted, burned, crashed, and went to hell.

Far Cry is also working for me. Bump maps work, water works, shadows work. And with this release, the video is smooth. (In previous versions it was very choppy)

I'd also like to say this: Far Cry is scary as hell. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/eek.gif]

Are there any articles that give a full out review of WineX 4? If it's truely a WineX that does not suck, I may start to have heart palpatations...

Heh, well it only came out this morning... I'd wait at least a couple days for a good review.

So far for me, I have been able to play Painkiller flawlessly. Like I said, Far Cry's videos stutter much much less. However, it seems to be crashing now. I'll have to look into it.

Don't expect Winex to be perfect, but they've come a long way.

The CVS version is nothing like the retail version. For example, it doesn't include copy protection,

Far Cry should work fine, the crashes I was experiencing were due to a misconfiguration on my part.
