Silver quarter dilemma
2006-06-12, 12:06 AM #1
I have this all silver 1964 quarter (it doesnt have zinc or anything like that in it).

I hear that they are worth more than your standard new zinc filled quarter.

But I have laundry in the dryer at my apartment, and it requires quarters to keep it going. My jeans will still be wet when they are done in 10 minutes, and another 15 minutes of dry time might do the trick. But all I have is this silver quarter...

Should I dry the pants or keep the quarter? HELP ME!

You can find another 1964 quarter.

Let the pants air dry, dummy.

If it's really worth a lot, I wouldn't waste it to drying.

Not easily! I only found this one because I worked at a convenience store a little over a year ago, and silver quarters were still pretty rare to come by.

They are jeans. Do you have any idea how long it takes for jeans to air dry?

Jeans are for homosexuals.

Do you only have twenty-five cents? Or only one pair of pants?

The debate is over. I have decided to keep the quarter. While the pants (2 pairs of them) are fairly wet, I think I can go long enough before I need to wear those particular pairs of pants.

And as for the "homos wear jeans" comment... then Vinny would know quite well the answer to my "how long to dry?" question wouldnt he?

That and most of the men in the world would be gay.

I don't really deny it, though.

Do you have an oven? Stick them in the oven and cook for 5-10 mins on low. Now it's time to prepare the dressing. 2 cups of flour, 1 tea spoon of olive oil ...

But indeed, no pants are way better then having pants. If it was possible, I would go without pants all the time.

I have 3 silver quarters :p They aren't THAT rare. I get them in change sometimes where I work. They also aren't worth THAT much.

Oh really? Someone bid $130 for what would normally be $20 worth of quarters. Thats quite a profit.

Air dry the jeans, it's better for them, anyway.

jeans only take like 2 days to air dry - less if you have a fan blowing on them (I know because I always air dry my jeans. they shrink otherwise)

They don't need to be air dried...use low heat or tumble if you're that worried.

My teacher has an empty X-Box box in his classroom, for storage.

-Since it used to be a box with an X-Box in it, is it technically an ex-X-Box-box?
2006-06-12, 4:09 PM #25
at school I don't think we have that option. We just have permanent press, colors (though I never really thought that was important for driers) and something else.

2 days? Where the hell do you hang them? The fridge? It takes a day at the most.

You are however correct to air dry, denim should never be put in a dryer since it has a tendancy to shrink.
nope.

I dorm room with no air circulation. by 2 days I mean you pmay not be able to wear them the day after you wash them, (if you're like me and do laundry at 2 am anyway) but the next day they should be fine.
