i tried yesterday. wicked.

and it's live.

try the mirror (telnet diego.ascii-wm.net 2006 ). it worked for me a few secs ago.... really crazy...

thats pretty damn cool, It'd be interesting to see how they did that (I'm sure it could be a quick explaination)

The first one is always busy when I try, and the second one is just garble =/ Is the first one exactly the same as that? Because I won't bother trying to connect if it is.

I guess they capture the image with a video-card and play it with mplayer, which has the ability to output it in ASCII art (-vo aa).

Indeed. I wish -vo caca was possible though. Then it'd be a lot more watchabel.

I dun understand, but it sounds awesome.

-The closest I come to being able to translate from image to Ascii is that program (posted here I believe) that lets you put in an image then select text if you so wish, then it makes the image in html color using the text. It looks cool. I made a Pie of Pi using it.

mplayer does that basically, except it does it VERY quickly, and not in HTML. It's so cool to watch though. :D
