I saw a post Schming made in the Moore thread and I want to discuss it.
Someone correct me if I make a mistake. About that flat tax rate...I used to like that idea too. But then I really thought about it and I realized it isn't a good idea. With that you take the burden of getting money to the government from the few upper class(who can more than afford it) to that of the backs of the numerous lower class who already struggle under current tax rates just so the government can maintain and progress as if it were using the current tax rate system (in America). That doesn't seem fair to me. Or, say you put the tax rate at a really low rate so that the lower class aren't hurt by it. Well, you no longer have money to operate the government because the taxes are so low. Yes, the government can get money out of trade but that doesn't pay for all the subsidies, government employee pay checks, maintenance, etc, etc. And getting more money out of trade could possibly mean putting up tariffs which always piss off other countries.
Now, do other countries(such as European countries) have a national flat tax rate? A meat packer pays the same amount of money in income tax as a lawyer does? How would a national flat tax rate work?

The sooner you realize I'm right the better off you will be.
