I will most likely be getting Conqueror's Crown and Boots this week, then the guild will be quitting AQ 40 and moving on to Naxx full time.

Crazy, I didn't know anyone here played on Garona. My 60 Druid is on Garona, albeit I have kind of retired him, as Druid = Healbot = Boring.

Man, you need a better guild if your druid is a healbot. I am told to do damage on trash to give rogues / hunters my aura, and even some bosses like Sulfuron and Executus.

Pretty much only the REALLY crazy guilds, like Fires of Heaven, force their druids/shamans/pallys to spec Resto. Your standard server raiding guild probably will force you too as well, while your standard second place in server progression raiding guild will not force you to spec.

My druid's spec is gonna look like this:

here

Sorry for the wow talent builder, on another computer and too lazy to search of the three-page-at-once-one.

That was before they lolarnerfed restro.

My philosphy: Druid's are the "Fill in" class. We're a mage, tank, rogue, and priest all in one (with limited capabilities to said classes). Why not spec what's needed most? A healer and a murderous kitty cat?

Damnit, I can't find the pictures I took ages ago. Ah well.

Anovis, to take 30 points in feral and not get leader of the pack is just stupid. Drop nature's swiftness and take leader of the pack.

uhh..no. Nature's Swiftness > Leader of the Pack.

YOU ARE WRONG.

That is all.
2006-06-28, 12:15 PM #56
uh no... nature's swiftness is nice, but leader of the pack completely owns in raids. Dont think of yourself in this situation. The ability to give all hunters, rogues and DPS warriors +3% to crit is just an AMAZING ability, and owns nature's swiftness.

If you're stuck on healing duty, which 60% of the time you are, Nature's Swiftness is a godsend to the other healing groups.

NATURES SWIFTNESS > LEADER OF THE PACK
2006-06-28, 12:18 PM #58
Well then if you're worried about being stuck in healing mode, spec resto!

You're gimping yourself by going 30 points in a tree, not getting the best ability the whole tree has to offer.

There's people that played druid longer than I have that even spec it the way posted. Hell, that spec has in no way shape or form been FORMED by me, it's on the Druid forums under the sticky called "Druid Specs" or something of the like. +3% crit to everyone in the "group" is nice, but Nature's swiftness for a "raid" is very useful.

NATURES SWIFTNESS > LOTP!

EDIT: About the going up the tree part and not getting the full 31:

Like I said earlier, I believe that druids should be healers, tanks, and dps'ers all in one. There's a balance there. If you get LotP and not nature's swiftness, there's almost no point to having ANYTHING in restro at all. Thus you get only feral.

Feral's different in that it buffs your talents up as the same as restro.
2006-06-28, 12:30 PM #60
Whatever, if you want to ruin yourself like that, go ahead, but it's seriously a waste to go 30 points into feral and not get leader of the pack

I'm upto lvl 20 now with my druid in WoW, just curious, what would you guys recommend as a good spec for my druid?

I don't plan on being a healbot although I do plan on eventually getting into a guild and helping out in large instances, hence I think leader of the pack is something I'm gonna have to aim for, so 31 points in feral probably.

Any ideas/opinions where I should spend the rest?

Also I'm on a PvE server at the moment but I am thinking of doing PvP soon.

Dont spec resto til 60
Pre 60, it's all about leveling as fast as possible. If you like doing damage as a beast, spec feral, if you like to do magic damage, spec balance.

And if you are planning on doing end game raiding, ask your guild what they need. Every druid in our guild used to be resto, but now we have a nice mix throughout the guild. I think we have 1 OOMkin (Called that because moonkin are always out of mana >.>), 2 or 3 feral, and 2 or 3 pure resto.

Most guilds these days are giving druids some freedom, especially now that innervate is a learned skill, instead of a talent.
