Looks pretty fake to me. Of all the police-chase type shows I've watched, the cops rarely fired on the vehicle, if ever, especially not that early in the chase, and definitely not at the back window like it looked like he was doing. Beyond that, I don't think a cop would ever jump from one vehicle to another, not to mention any idiot criminal could see that it was happening and jerk the truck the other way.

Okay:

#1 Just because you think its fake doesnt mean it is. A guy in LA stole a tank and drove around for at least an hour in it. That seems like it could be fake, but it happened.

#2 The plates on those cars are not American plates. The speeds were registered as km/h
Cops in other countrys dont use the same tactics as ours do.


As for the "Too early in the police chase," the video was edited which means a decent length of time passed.

It was San Diego. It didn't end well for that guy. He was shot and killed inside the tank after it became stuck on a concrete barrier in the middle of the freeway (I-15, I think it was).

I saw that tank chase on some stupid "wild police videos" thing while channel surfing a few days ago.

Guy didn't steal it. Well.... technically I guess he did, but not in the traditional sense. He was in an armored division and knew how to drive the damn thing. So he very literally probably just walked up to it, got inside, and drove away. And once it's going, you're not stopping it easily. The guy was also drunk/depressed/etc. And he didn't die. At least not that the video and commertary said. He got stuck, a few cops boarded the tank, maced him, and then had to shoot him in the shoulder. THEN they could pull him out and end it.

anyone see the thing where the crazy guy built his own tank and terrorized an entire town? Didn't hurt anyone, just caused distruction. They couldn't stop him, either. Shot him with everything they had, even fired some shells at it, and it barely scratched the thing. He finally shot himself, and that's ALL that ended it. He could have kept going until they dropped a shell on him.

I remember watching the San Diego tank thing on tv live.

I think this video is real. If you notice, it's definitely not American because of the license plates, km/h, and the driver's wheel is on the right. This could be any country where British driving rules are enforced, which could mean almost any former colony.

So, because it's not American, it's real? Nice logic there people. Sorry, but cops would use the PIT manuever and spike strips, then try to shoot out the tires before jumping from one vehicle to another then throw someone out of a car taveling so fast. And, there are no other cars on the road.

I don't doubt that it's been done, by professional stuntmen on a closed road, but real life is a stretch.

Kind of hard to use spike strips when the truck is turning and driving down different roads. It wasnt down one long highway where the could set up strips 5 miles in advance...

Give one good reason that it is fake, other than "unlikely" things in the video happened.

We sure as hell don't use PIT in the UK. Our roads are too narrow for cars to swing around and not clash with oncoming traffic or smashing into housing or pedestrians. Just pointing out that PIT isn't universal.
If it is real my guess would be South Africa. The cops there resort to using firearms pretty quickly due to the common extreme violence of crime in SA.

This video is several years old. This isn't (at least originally) a video game ad, this is actual chase footage. Some of you need to get your head out of your asses and realize that police forces around the world don't all use US tactics. Brute force is acceptable in many countries, and they don't care what it takes to stop someone.
