Please don't post anything illegal.

We just got back from TNT fireworks, and we got:

I also got a thing called America Rising which is a set of 6 mortar balls, well, each one has 4 attached, so 6x4 actually. They look awesome, hopefully they will be cooler than the regular mortars. Couldn't find it on their web site, though :(

Fireworks are illegal in Illinois. Therefore, I cannot post the arsenal we have.

We seriously had a ****load a year or so back, and still have a nice chunk of it.
I had a blog. It sucked.

2nd year in a row that I'm not buying any fireworks. Gonna load up the kiddos and go to church. They bought a few grand worth of fireworks again this year. Last year was really nice.

They're illegal here, so no personal fireworks for me.

Haven't bought any myself. A few friends set off some artillery rounds earlier tonight. Probably going to Jeff City (MO) tomorrow for the big fireworks show (alone)[/emo] there unless I somehow get miraculously invited to a friend's party at the lake.

Does this count as illegal? :P

(I'm actually going to go see a professional fireworks show, as all D.I.Y. fireworks are illegal where I live.)

Obviously this thread doesn't really apply to me, being a Britassian and all, but this just makes way more sense to me.

I've only been involved in personal fireworks displays a couple of times, and they just are not worth the time and expense. Go to a professional display, get there early, find a good spot (preferably up a hill somewhere), get a bit of a picnic going, have a couple of beers, then lie back on the grass and watch what will be a faaaaaaar superior display than you could ever put on in your back garden.

Our city puts on a professional display as well, but last year, our church's display blew theirs away (pun intended). Traffic wasn't nearly as bad, we had free food, free concerts, and free inflatable games. Good times!

I didn't really buy much this year, just a few Roman Candles, bottle rockets, and a pretty big parachute. All in all, less than $15.

We found a huge tunnel that goes under our city. Me and another guy go down in there and set stuff off. That way the cops won't get med. One black cat sounds like an artillery barrage. Acoustics FTW.

Damn, you guys have crappy states. Anyway, it's not about trying to make a big show, it's about having fun. And blowing **** up is always fun! What can beat explosives and pie!?
2006-07-04, 11:03 AM #22
I usually set off my own for a few hours, then I lay on my roof and watch the big stuff down the way. Works out really well.

Exactly! I wish Communist Oklahoma sold bottle rockets. Those things rocked.

How far are you away from Missouri? That's where I get mine.

I love our fireworks laws. Can purchase at the age of 10, they can be sold year-round as long as it's a year-round retail fireworks outlet, and the only things that are illegal are ground salutes and things that don't meet CPSC requirements.

It's about fire in California. The last thing we need is for someone to start another Oakland Hills fire.

Ended up going to the fireworks party today. Party itself was lame, but the fireworks show was amazing. Best non-city sponsored fireworks ever. The party was in a rich neighborhood, all doctors and lawyers, and it was kind of like a Fourth Block Party. $5000 was spent on the fireworks. They filled a trailer with them and went nuts. It was crazy. That is some money. Some money which went up in flames, but was hella fun to watch.
