Haha I sold pencils to Brendan Fraser today
2006-07-06, 6:11 PM #1
Some of you may know, I work at Staples (Office Depot/Bureau en Gros).

Brendan Fraser came in today, shopped around for an hour and bought $720 of stationary, pencils, rulers, and some specialised drawing stuff.

He's a really nice guy, we chatted somewhat (not really) while I was ringing up his stuff. And is girlfriend is ****ing HOT. With a british accent too. I love british accents.

So yeah. In case anybody cares (probably not).

I was just in Staples today buying a new mouse! Maybe he was there, and I just didn't see him! Dang...
Very funny Scotty. Now beam down my clothes.

Too bad you didn't shout "WATCH OUT FOR THAT TREE!!!" or have said "The cheese is old and moldy. Where is the bathroom?" while staring at his GF. :)

Why all the rulers and pencils?
Very funny Scotty. Now beam down my clothes.

Maybe he's putting together some of those packages with school supplies to send to Iraqi children.

The pencils so he can take note of how his sex life is going to go down the drain after he's married.

The rulers so he can also watch his manhood wither away.

To make sure his GF has the right T&A sizes. Guys in hollywood are quite picky, ya know.

What about the art stuff though?
Very funny Scotty. Now beam down my clothes.

That depends on what Shintock means by 'specialised drawing stuff.'

Wouldn't Brendan have someone else to do his shopping for him?

weird.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

That's what I thought too. And the weird part is that he was really nonchalant about it. But we're downtown in old Montreal, which is overflowing with movie plateaus and filming in the streets, we get famous people all the time, but not usually anyone this well known.
2006-07-06, 6:55 PM #16
hehe, did you get all crazy about it?

Shintock: OMG OMG UR BRENDON FRASER LOL! UR IN TEH MUMMAY!!11 LOL

Fraser: Yeah. Can I have my stapler?

Shintock: OMGLOL YES CAN U SIGN IT FOR ME FIRST?! CAN U TAKE A PICTURE WITH ME LOL ANED SIGN THAT TOO??!?!

Fraser: Shut up, n00b.

Actually it was probably more like:

Shintock: Hello. Find everything you were looking for today?
Fraser: Yes, thank you.
Shintock: [I wonder if that's really Fraser. That chick is really hot too. It must be him.]
* Shintock scans in all of his merchandise.
Shintock: Do you have air miles?
Fraser: Nope.
Shintock: Oh okay. That will be $720.
* Fraser hands Shintock his VISA card.
Shintock: [Hmm. It says Brendan Fraser on it. Is it really him? Do I say something?]
* Shintock scans in the card and hands Fraser his card and merchandise.
Shintock: Umm. Have a nice day!
Fraser: Thanks. You too.

>_>

Anyway, this "girlfriend" must have been his wife. According to he IMDB page they've been married since '98 and have 3 children! O_o Maybe that ruler was to measure how much was left.

Either that, or he's cheating on his wife, and foolishly went out to Staples with his flame.

It's not that odd.
I work for CompUSA, and a mexican family came in and bought 1 60 GB Ipod and 1 X-box 360, plus a couple accessories. Totalled like 975 bucks.

The only celebrities I've met personally were

Guy Lafleur (The hockey player) - We print and design stuff for his restaurant all the time, and he came over once to meet the team and see how it was being done.

Marc Labrèche (Quebec actor) - Went to one of his tv shows and got to meet him after it was over.

Sweet Amy-lee (not really celeb but pornstar) - I redid her portfolio, it was torture.

This is my planned dialogue for celebrity encounters:

Masq: Wow! You know, you look just like that famous person, what's the name...
Celebrity: (insert their own name)
Masq: No that's not it... Paul Reubens! Yes!
Celebrity: ...
Masq: Spittin' image.

Unless it happens to be Paul Reubens, in which case replace his name in my response with "Sissy Spacek."

i met The Donnas. They were soft.

i also met Christopher Titus. awesome guy.

we talked to him a bit before the show, then afterwards, we bought a shirt for my g/f's brother who was a) underage, and b) at the cake concert that same night. he told us he'd have rather been at the cake show.

(truthfully me too. then i would have avoided that uncomfortable half hour where my buddy dragged his girlfriend, me and my girlfriend to the strip club across the way from the comedy club to visit a mutual friend. 2nd most traumatic experiance at a strip club :psyduck: )

I've only been near some Finnish celebrities so that doesn't really mean a thing.

But when I was in a U.N building tour Condoleezza Rice was in the same room but she went away just when I turned around. HMM.
