lol, sadly enough, I'm really enjoying this.

(5 bucks says in about 24 hours we'll have ascii monopoly, ascii battleship, ascii othello, etc, and then the admins will crack down and say no more ascii games.)

Well, if it's countered properly, I have to create alternate routes to checkmate. 30 is a gross estimate of the maximum moves after this point, which I only put there after CM yelled at me, but now it's past me, so there's nothing I can do about it :P

I know how to win in 4 moves total, but *nobody* is that retarded :P

Wait... Sarn's move doesn't work, does it? The king is still in check, or is there something I'm missing.

Knights move 2 up/down or left/right, then 1 left/right or up/down or 1 up/down or left/right, then 2 left/right or up/down respectively, so isn't the lower-case king (k) still in check after that move?

Here's my explanation, the red spaces with red characters (='s if the space is currently unoccupied) signifies which spaces the knight can move to next, and thus which spaces the king would be in check.

The blue spaces represent the path the knight would take to the king's current position.

it's a legal move. the knight is lower-case, the king is lower-case. You can't checkmate your own pieces :P

Psh, I dunno what backwater rules you play by, but I always play with Teamkill on.

It does have its downside though, I always lose at the start of the match, cause someone just loves sticking the Queen next to me.

Actually, no.

At teh beginning, before my queen advanced, I had my bishop guarding the spot the queen captured. Your King couldn't touch my Queen, unless you wanted to commit chess-seppeku. :p
