CARRIER: A A A A A

Rules: The game is played on a 10x10 grid. Each player places their fleet of 5 ships on the grid. Ships cannot be placed diagonally and they may not overlap. Both players then take turns declaring attacks, one attack for every ship they still have in play. For every attack the opposing player must declare whether it was a hit or a miss. When a ship has been destroyed, the player must declare which ship was sunk. The first player to run out of ships loses.

how do you keep people from cheating?
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

I was going to point that out. You'll be able to see the ships.

Your game sucks.
nope.

You could spoiler-tag your fleet, and work on the honor system.

I think there should be a moderator who each player will send their configuration to through PM, and then the moderator can make sure everyone's playing fair.

Sheesh, this may take a little while to nail down.

you'll need 4 grids total, to keep track of hits and misses for each side.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Techically speaking, there should be no battleship boards posted online since in the actual game you don't see the opposing board... just leave your own board in notepad or something.

As for cheating, we could have a third person (the runner up to play) knowing the positions of both sides ships and he would watch for cheating. just pm him/her your positions.
