Fahrenheit 9/11 (NON-Debate thread)

Just post what you thought about the film. I don't think that Moore lied or stretched any truths out. All of the things in the film were backed up by more then enough evidence.

It was a great film, and I suggest you all see it.

Making a post like that and calling it a non-debate thread is shear lucany. I think I'l go make a "Hitler rocks" thread and call it non-debate. That would be hilarious!

For once I agree with Obi_Kwiet, although I wouldn't call it "lucany" (lunacy) so much as stupidity.

[Edit] Actually, after reasonable consideration, SAJN's intention is by no means stupid because there can indeed be opinions without debate, just not at Massassi.net. [/edit]

Perhaps people will debate more on the topic about this thread being a stupid idea than actually debating about the movie?

I agree.

This is a pretty stupid thread. As are all the "please don't start debating! aaaaah you're debating! it hurts! aah all that debating! aaah" threads.

I vote for a Non-Discussion forum.

I haven't seen the movie yet. Now that we have that out of the way, I want to make a comment. I don't agree with Moore on many things, but I do think he is intelligent and has an attractive personality. I saw him on Jon Stewart and I liked his honesty. Jon Stewart asked him if his movie was unbiased and Moore said No. He said it was biased because what he did was present the facts and gave his opinion on it. Of course it is going to be biased.

Very few people would admit to that.

There is one thing I don't like about him though. When his opinion gets beat into the corner with facts he makes a joke to get out of admitting he might be wrong on a certain point.

Stupidity is being dumb, unintelligent, idiotic. Lunacy is being insane, crazy, unstable. You can be insane and intelligent at the same time.

hey smartass, did I say I wanted to be the only one to be heard? NO! I said I wanted a discussion without a debate and you morons can't seem to do that! You pull apart a perfectly good thread on purpose because you don't think it's a good idea. Yeah well it was a good idea you people just can't talk without having a debate. So piss off.

[Edit: Yeah I am in a bad mood, but it's all the jerkoff jerky jerks here that make me pissed off. Ubuu and MechWarrior pick fights with everyone, MeLoN isn't respectful to anyone, and now you people can't follow a simple request and NOT DEBATE]

But in responding you are helping the debte continue.
2004-06-26, 2:09 PM #21
So you basically want everyone to simply ignore everyone elses opinions and just voice their own?

How exactly is that even remotely approaching a 'discussion'?

Everytime I hear someone say something that goes against my opinion (Moore) I picture them on the toilet after eatting at Taco Bell. There's something about the image of them shirt-less and sweaty on the ivory throne with fiery diarrhea that makes whatever they say entertaining.

1. I didn't see the movie

2. I don't like Moore's movies or political positions. Why would I spend $ to see a movie that I know I'll hate? I cant stand him anyways!

3. However, I must give him credit for stating his opinion, even though it is a polar opposite of mine. Isn't America beautiful? I can think of several areas in the world where if someone made a movie like that about their leader, they would be executed!!

4. Isnt Moore being sued about it's title? Sued by the author of Fahrenheit 451?

BTW you cannot start a thread about a controversial topic and telling people what to post.

You know, I don't think SAJN is asking too much here. If you want to bash/praise Moore in general - use the other thread. He's clearly stated here and in the other thread which was trolled out of existence what he's after so if you don't want to participate, go away.

The movie isn't opening here in Australia for another month so I'll have to wait.

Gah, I'd really like to debate the movie here, because the other topic is just a war vs. anti-war debate anyways. But at SAJN's request, I think I'll just say I enjoyed the movie thoroughly, but I wish there was more new content in it I hadn't already read/seen.
2004-06-26, 11:08 PM #27
As a real post, I haven't seen any of Moore's films, allthough I've been meaning to, and Stupid White Men entertained me. Ergo, when it is shown on Sky, I might watch it.
