Some ****er is hacking into my account and making posts that I was totally unaware of until I read this thread:

It's kinda funny because that post goes TOTALLY against my personal belief that everyone's art (well...most everyone's) is awesome. I guess I'm more amused than pissed right now. But I just hope this dumb*** hasn't gone around posting random crap that could get me banned.

Has anyone else had this happen before? Eh? Who should I e-mail about this?

Check out my post right after yours. :D

There was some trouble with this sort of thing a few months back.

Who's the only person with enough time to do this? Ret.
Who's the only person who's lame enough to do this? Ret.
Who's the only person stupid enough to do this? Ret.
Who's the only person who hates Massassi enough to do this? Ret.

*sigh*

Oh well, I don't really care. But if he posts something totally stupid, just know it's not actually me.

Uhm, but you did change your password, after you discovered that, right?
And if you use the same password somewhere else I'd change that, too.
Sorry for the lousy German

Uh, just change your password?

This is why you choose strong passwords, folks. Dictionary words are bad. Names of pets, family members, schools, etc, are all bad. Very bad. Random, nonsensical phrases with numbers mixed in are good. Random combinations of letters and numbers are better.

My massassi password is a 32 character string of random letters and numbers.

No it's not. You just got that from me talking about my huge passwords in the chat.

Um what? My password really is that long.

(it's actually an md5 thing of another password, don't tell anyone.)

I also use hashes for passwords. Not just md5 hashes of a password but my script takes a random number of characters from random positions of the hash based on a salted hash of the original password.

Your logic isn't welcome here.

I use KeePass's random passwords (usually generated by my very long random keyboard input) for secure accounts, and numbers/phrases for common things I don't care about. My CaCert.org account, one of the few places that actually lets you use really secure passwords, has like a 64 character long password with special and higher ANSI characters, the password strength is like 491-bits. Why so long? Do I need it? No, but KeePass generates it and it has a nice copy/paste interface that autoclears in 10 seconds. So why not, eh?

Delphian quit trying to make excuses. We know that was you. Just cause you're having a bad day doesn't give you the right to be such a jerk.
