It's Spring Time for Hitler and Germany! Deutchland is Happy and Gay!

I just saw the 2005 version of The Producers and LOVED it! I was already a big fan of Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick, but I had never seen their true range of dance and singing, not to mention O.T.T. but thoroughly enjoyable acting. I was also pleasantly surprised by the supporting cast. Uma Thurman was very funny, as well as a good dancer and singer, and even Will Ferrel was highly entertaining. I'll just go ahead and say that the guy normally irritates the heck out of me, but after seeing this, I appreciate his great comic talent. I still say he's completely wasted on most of the trash movies he makes at the moment though.

The "Gay" song had me in stitches, and especially the servant who answers the door: "YEEeeeessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.....s." And of course "Springtime for Hitler" is superb.

Anyway, the movie was great. I haven't seen the original (well, only parts), but I want to. I also decided to make a poll, to see what peopel thought of the two movies.

loved the first one.

I just like it when Gene Wilder screams.
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

There is no option for "I haven't seen either", which I would hove chosen.

In celebration of the Producers. "Like Samsum and Delilah!"

Enjoy.

edit - Oh, I found another! Just as terrible! Twice as feminine!

I've seen the original, and I like it.

You know it was originally named Springtime for Hitler, but some honchos didn't want its title contain the name Hitler.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

I only wish I could put Will Farrell in the one with Gene Wilder, then that would be the best!

Uma Thurman makes it so worth it.

It's hard to even compare the two. Yes, they're the same story, but they're completely different styles - genres even
