Looks pretty cool. I'll probably bite, I dunno. I have an aversion to Valve team based games since Counterstrike. But I might give it at try.

Well, considering Valve actually had nothing to do with Counterstrike, and only picked up the mod makers because it was a huge success, and they officially made Team Fortress Classic...it's a bit different.

And yes, I know Valve didn't originally make CS, but still, the community...ech.

I think he might be referring to the Valve community that likes to play these games.

The community for TFC is WORLDS different from the CS community. Seriously, most TFC players are in their 30s-40s and just enjoy having fun, and aren't really that competitive.

Portal looks sweeeeet. It appears to essentially be a 3D puzzle solving game, but looks like a lot of fun. :cool:

I was pretty disappointed with EP1. I thought it was pretty boring to be honest and definitely not long enough to be worth $20. If EP2 is $20 and comes with Portal and TFC, that would make up for it, though.

The new animations are creative and seem quite smooth, but I have always preferred the realism-based approach of CS and DoD. Maps like cs_militia in CS:S are exquisite.

I know that, but it was still on the Half-life/Source engine, therefore I'll rephrase my statement; I've never liked anything on either the Half-life engine or Source engine.

I'm not the one with a stick up my ***. Also, you never mentioned the Source engine (and obviously have not played any of the amazing mods for HL1/2), and only mentioned that you disliked HL1/2. Which implied you disliked what valve created.

Judging games by the engine they're on is the stupidest thing ever. That's like saying you hate Splinter Cell because it uses a modified UT engine.

Hey, I never said I hate everything on the source engine, I said I've never liked anything on it. Which implies I've never liked anything I've played.
