I know, I was watching and thinking. "Ahh, too gritty like the comics", then near the end they saved it and blended it perfectly with the cartoon feel. *swoons*

My thoughts exactly. "Oh no, they ruined it. It's going to be all dark and stupid. The whole appeal of the original movies was their hum...Bwahahahahahahahahahaha. This wins."

They could have atleast aimed for real instead of cartoonish. Oh well.

It was very reminiscent of that X1800XT "Toy Shop" tech demo.

No, man!

The entire point is that it's cartoonish - it's a comic book turned cartoon turned film. The atmosphere of the source doesn't imply it being serious; that's why the first two films were like a bloody joke compared to the awesomness of the cartoons.

I think they got it perfect with CG now.

I loved the movies and cartoon as a kid.

-But one thing suddenly bugged me: They're frikkin' Turtles. How the hell do they move so fast?
2006-07-20, 9:11 PM #23
They're mutant turtles, their speed is enhanced like their intelligence I guess.

This movie looks like it'll be based on the 2003 cartoon series, which is good since the 1987 cartoon was pretty kiddy, even though I grew up with that series.

i found that new series one of the few cartoon remakes to be worth watching, loads of them were a pile of wank, but the turtles one was buzzing.

that trailer looks mint.

Actually, since they've started releasing the original TMNT cartoon on DVD, if you watch them - you'll notice lots of the same gags and jokes being done in the first three movies. I never noticed it before, but after watching them again on DVD I was surprised at how many references the movies made to them.

Also, realize the original cartoon was a far departure from the style of the original drawings and comic book - and that the new TMNT cartoon is more like that style.

I think this looks great!

Leonardo's face looks a lot like Gex the gecko, from that old PSX game.

Still, awesome.
