I just bought this movie on (apparently uncut) DVD today and watched it.

Right now I'm at a loss for words. Except for one: Amazing.

I know this movie is really old news. I don't care. I just want you to see it in case you haven't.

Thoughts?

I've got the trilogy on DVD boxset. They're good, but the third one is silly.

Theres a boxset?

I had to buy them all seperate.

The second one is my favorite, though.

Just so you know, the next two movies in the trilogy are nothing like the frist.

And they ARE chronological, they just couldn't get the rights to use previous movie footage, so they had to re-film some flashbacky type stuff.

I only know the awesome third movie. Got to watch the first to ...
Sorry for the lousy German

Yep.

The second one is basically the same as the first one, except it's better and ends where the third begins. IIRC.

Especially in the 2nd when he had a fight with his hand, and the whole "farewell to arms" gag Its like a movie u cant get sick of. it just never gets old :D

Have I thanked you for hooking me on these movies lately?

Evil Dead 2 > Evil Dead
2006-07-21, 1:32 PM #13
Army Of Darkness > All.
nope.
2006-07-21, 2:06 PM #14
I own all 3, and I like them in reverse order. Army of Darkness>Evil Dead 2>Evil Dead
2006-07-21, 3:12 PM #15
My order would be:

Evil Dead 2> Army of Darkness>Evil Dead

you bastards! give me back my hand!! and uh huh...that's right...who's laughing now...who's laughing now! ahhhh *chainsaw cuts arm and blood spurts everywhere* haha

There's an evil dead map for Garry's Mod, where you have to defend the cabin. Pretty awesome.

I don't own any of the Evil Dead movies, but I've seen all three of them numerous times at friends houses and such.

Two words: they rock.

And this guy made Spiderman. Can you believe it?
It's like hiring... some other loony... like... I dunno, Tim Burton, to direct a superhero movie, like, a superhero that *everybody* knows and loves like... gosh... uh... Batman, or something. It's crazy.
Wait, what?

-Seriously, Raimi, Burton, and Jackson. Horror/Comedy (Goth in Burton's case) directors that go on to make these big action flicks (LotR in Jackson's case). I guess each of these darklings just has some mainstream just bursting to escape. Someone get Lynch on the phone, the DBZ movie has his name all over it.

I love love love love love the Evil Dead trilogy.

Evil Dead 2 is NOT a remake. Listen to the commentary fools.
"Those ****ing amateurs... You left your dog, you idiots!"
2006-07-22, 12:27 AM #22
You could technically edit them all together to make one movie that flowed perfectly.
2006-07-22, 12:52 AM #23
yeah they were discussing that actually on IMDB. that'd be cool to do. edit them and have one big movie. that'd be cool
2006-07-22, 1:35 AM #24
I hear they're remaking it.

-Dunno how they can. It's a classic.

Meh, looks like it's really hard here to get a version that hasn't been totally cut down.
