Yeah, Adobe bought Macromedia a long time ago. However, they must have just recently changed the branding of Flash to Adobe, because when I reformatted a few weeks ago and went to install Flash, it was still branded as Macromedia Flash.

Yea, I learned about this merger recently from my photoshop class. I also heard that Adobe is going to incoporate the compression technology from Macromedia into their programs as well.
