Talk to me if you want to learn HTML.
DISCLAIMER: This is just armchair observation, not the result of many hours of deliberate study of the subject. I'm by no means an expert, but just an ignorant hick who's putting his two cents in. For that and a nickel, you can have a cup of coffee.

I can give you free hosting if you like.

I also know everything about html and css (ok, almost everything :p), but I'm not going to teach you, i'll answer any questions though.

I'm decent in XHTML, CSS, Java, and C/C++. I'm probably going to transfer my efforts to Ruby and Ruby On Rails though.

Old old old old old old old old website.

-Photoshop and Imageready can be great friends or terrible enemies when it comes to web design.

I've done plenty of XHTML, CSS, and I'm "proficient" at PHP (I don't know a ton, but I know enough to write a decent site).

I like web programming, but I wouldn't want to do it as a job.

I never got into web programming. I stick with compiled languages which I am proficient in: Java, C++, C#.

I'm a php guy

decent with design, though I prolly break a lot of standards rules (even though most of my stuff validates)

I've done (X)HTML, CSS, PHP, and MySQL. PHP and MySQL not as much, but I can work my way around in it. I'm interested in learning AJAX and Ruby, but probably not now. To tell the truth, I had no interested in web programming a couple of years ago, but I'm really starting to get interested in it.

I can do (X)HTML, CSS, PHP and MySQL. But I totally suck at designing. I only do the code.

One tip I can give you, never restrict your design by what you think is only possible. First design the website in Photoshop or something similar and then implement it.

I hope you're also learning CSS. IMHO it will be harder if you start doing the layout with HTML and then later learn CSS. Begin with CSS. It's not very hard.

Ah, HTML. I used to be kinda good at it but now I've forgot how to use it except for really simple things. Heh.
