So I'm thinking of getting into airsoft. I need to have a semi-automatic or fully automatic rifle to start though. So anyway. What kind of gun should I get?

I've been wanting to get my hands on a P90 airsoft, but thats just me

I'm certainly no expert, but I really like my Marui MP5k. It's fairly compact, and still has a decent rate of fire. Grab a hi-cap mag or two, and you'll end up spending a little over $200. The only downside is the battery can be a pain in the *** to install.

There must be some odd trend going on.

My friend who wants me to join his group uses an MP5. And he wants me to get a P90. . .oddness.

That was the Full / Semi Auto I started with.. The battery is a pain.

P90's and MP5's are just cool, hence why everyone wants them. Personally though, I prefer paintball mockups, instead of relying on 6mm paint pellets. I used to play with an Airsoft sidearm, and it just wasn't worth it.

for $300 you can get a semi-auto AK47 clone (i say clone as in not made in russia) that shoots real bullets

Hah! I have one. Well, I don't know if my Grandpa still has it anymore (We keep it in his cabbin up on the boundary waters, and I haven't been there in over 2 years.) but I own one. It's sick, but eats bbs too fast.

The standard-issue automatic weapon for most of Stargate is the FN-P90.

I always thought it'd be cool to get one of those airsoft sniper rifles with the ridiculous spring that gets it going 500 fps. Of course since airsoft guns are quite illegal in NYC, I suppose I can't really do that.
Steal my dreams and sell them back to me.....
