So I was talking to a friend today and he thinks that answering the door while wearing only a towel is weird. I tend to do this if I just got out of the shower or whatever. What do you all do/think?

I'll only answer the door fully clothed.

I've answered the door naked before.

I sometimes answer in just a t-shirt and boxers.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

I answered fully-clothed, because I count wearing a bathrobe and boxers clothed enough.

However, if you are an attractive lady, answering the door in a towel or less is very acceptable... <_<

Fully clothed. I think it would most likely be uncomfortable for the unsuspecting visitor otherwise.

Depends on if I'm already getting dressed or not. If I just got out of the shower I'd probably just pull my pants on and answer the door shirtless.

Have towel, will travel.

My shower is at the other end of the house from the front door, so chances are I'd never hear anyone knock. And even if I heard the doorbell, I still probably wouldn't answer it.

i dont wear towels, i crack a dressing gown on straight after the shower, and i'd easily answer the door in that.

but generally i'm like seb.... i ignore doors and phones.

Not okay. Wear clothes when you answer the door.

In college I sometimes answer the door with just a towel. And that's all of like 3 of 5 times or something.

At home, I throw on the clothes, because it's usually one of my mom's friends, or the ups guy :P

the only people who ring the doorbell at sleep or shower time are delivery men with stuff for me from Amazon, and i'm sure they've had the door answered by thousands of people wearing just towels, so as far as i'm concerned as long as the bottom half is covered i'm good.

I forgot this important caveat. In college, all things are acceptable.

Yeah, when I was in halls at uni I wandered all over the place in just a towel - but I am a bit of a man-whore :v:

Also, I can't believe I forgot:

You'll have to speak up, I'm wearing a towel.

I'm always dressed when I answer the door. If I'd just gotten out of the shower and no-one else is around to answer it, I'll crack it open slightly and hide behind the door while I talk to whoever it is :o

I'll often answer the door naked, but I'll simply hide myself behind the door. This happens often because I take two showers per day.

I'll wear a towel and hide behind the door. . .my chest has to much whiteness to behold!

Fully clothed. No one would come over anymore if a 6'1", 280 lbs. guy answered the door in a towel.

Partially clothed is fine for me. Once at college, I was annoyed at someone knocking on the door for my roommate. Although I was in my underwear, I allowed him to answer the door. I was partially concealed by a chair that I was sitting in. I just didn't care. If you can imagine me in my underwear, it doesn't seem to be a big deal if you see me in underwear in RL.

okay wait so does a robe count as fully clothed? Because I tend to go around in that after a shower anyway. My towels have way too many akward falling-open issues for me to feel comfortable walking around the house if my brother's home, much less answering the door. I think we really need bigger towels. Beach towel size would be okay.

oh wait - so yeah, when I'm in a robe, which I am after a shower anyway.

I answer the door to my room in a towel or with no shirt all the time. Not the front door though.

Depends on who's at the door, if it's a stranger I'll probably make more effort to cover up.
If it's a friend, towel works just fine.

You guys suck, I once answered the door still covered in soap suds.

If I'm expecting someone to call or come over while I'm in the shower, then I'll answer the phone/door. Otherwise I'll probably just ignore it. But regardless, I'll usually just answer the door in whatever I'm wearing. Sometimes I like to hang around my place with my pants off, so if someone knocks at those times I'll put some pants on. But I've answered the door in a towel lots of times, and just in a shirt and boxers (which is what I sleep in). And I was serious about the soap suds thing.
