Looking for roads

I'm trying to find some fairly hi-res road textures (256x256 or higher) of various types. I've looked everywhere I can think of, but found nothing good and/or free. (Paying for textures is dumb, imo.)

you can easily make your own if you have photoshop or psp.

Just use a noise filter and then add a semi-transparent lellow strip down the middle of it and you have road...

Use Gimp if you have nothing else.

The University of North Carolina has finally found a network server that, although missing for four years, hasn't missed a packet in all that time. Try as they might, university administrators couldn't find the server. Working with Novell Inc., IT workers tracked it down by meticulously following cable until they literally ran into a wall. The server had been mistakenly sealed behind drywall by maintenance workers.

made in about 10 seconds:

it is incredibly easy with photoshop.

I don't suggest using noise though. The Artistic>Film Grain (or sponge) filter give some bigger patches and just looks much better for this kind of thing, also there is more to configure so you can get it to look just how you like it [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Edit: And just for the sake of it, some darker more racetrack type road:

I used to be like that, until I acquired it from someone that owed me money. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

I used to be like that, until I merely acquired it. Use your judgement in what you think I mean...

Oh, and that second road texture looks nice.

I made a thread, that turned into the debate, so I made a second thread, that turned into a debate, then I made a third thread, that caught on fire, burned down, got flamed, crapped on, bashed, then turned into a debate...but the fourth one, the fourth one stayed on topic!
