Go to check my mail this morning, and noticed some non-spam in my Hotmail account(used it for a "junk" account for a while, as well as a few things it's tied to). Apparently it's a message from someone who works on ticalc.org. Well, the email contained this:
I found that kind of funny. This was referring to the only program I ever submitted there, which was over like a year and a half ago. Normally I would've ignored it, since really, some crappy program I wrote a year and a half ago isn't important to me. Only accumulated like 1000 downloads in a year and a half, nothing big. The manner in which the guy blindly assumed I was the cause of this "stat cheating" kind of annoyed me though. So, I decided to write him a nice letter in response...
Unfortunately the guy hasn't responded to that, heh. I hope he does though. I want to see his reasoning, heh.

Thank you for the blind accusation. Unfortunately, it is a false
accusation. I assume you based this on some log that showed an IP address
downloading the same file multiple times. If this is the case, what made
you arrive to the conclusion that I would be the one doing it? That program
was submitted over a year and a half ago. Why would I have waited over a
year and a half to skew statistics as you accuse me of doing? Sorry, but
no, I'm not some social outcast who relies on numbers on a web site to make
themselves feel good. It is quite insulting for you to assume that. Here
is some advice for you. Next time you feel the need to accuse someone of
something, do it in a more professional manner. Maybe some actual evidence
that supports your claims would help next time. Maybe it's time for you to
revise your download tracking software if it allows such easy cheating.
