You could Google around for it anyway, it's not like it really matters for personal use. It may be illegal, but legality doesn't dictate morality. The copy protection isn't there to stop people from extracting sounds for personal use or even for other mod projects. A lot of that stuff is legal safegaurd, and stops things like total theft of material. I wouldn't worry about it.
Oh, they should just be in whatever Far Cry's container files are. Come to think of it, I would doubt they're even encrypted, but I never checked. It would seem silly to not allow Far Cry modders to mod sounds from the original game...
You could also find a quiet place on an island (or make your own quiet room level if necessary) and record the sounds with the wave/what you hear recording feature that should be on your soundcard.
Edit: To save the legal troubles, you're really better off Googling and looking on sound search engines such as findsounds.com and get yourself some sounds which are public domain. I wouldn't be suprised if there are sound libraries that include weapon sounds. I'm sure not all developers record their own sounds for games, especially for standard weapons.
