the good guys get all the flack

It's sad to see... in every scandal, it's the whistleblower who comes out worst. People generally just want you to shut up about the skeletons in their closets.

Anyway, post heroes. :)

Anyone who calls this man a traitor is clearly a moron.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

That's terrible. The man's a hero, in my book.
the idiot is the person who follows the idiot and your not following me your insulting me your following the path of a idiot so that makes you the idiot - LC Tusken

You can do the right thing and still be a traitor.

I don't see why the word has to have such a negative conontation.

To be labled a traitor gives impression that you are disloyal and untrustworthy. Nobody wants to have those markers.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

Uh, except that he WASN'T a traitor for what he did. Nothing in what he did betrayed his obligation to his Country, in fact, quite the opposite. The traitors are the ones who commited the acts...

This guy started the Bush Administration landslide and if he had a website asking for donations, I'd gladly contribute. This man deserves a reward.

Yeah, I'd say he's a hero.
2006-08-16, 7:01 PM #16
Right on.

Let's see more heroes. (Whatever kind of heroes you like)

The Young brothers.

I think he definately betrayed his comrades.

But I don't think he did anything wrong.

BEING A TRAITOR ISN'T ALWAYS BAD.
2006-08-19, 11:55 AM #18
He only kind of betrayed his comrades, as they weren't knowingly entrusting him with any knowledge. And did he actually betray the interests of his country?

(Though I do agree with you that being a traitor isn't always bad. It's not always good either, though)

Theres still a certain level of trust between comrades. He still betrayed that trust.

That still makes him a traitor.

That isn't a bad thing.
2006-08-19, 3:20 PM #20
Which is worse? Betraying your country, laws and yourself, or betraying your comrades who have already done so?
Nothing to see here, move along.
2006-08-19, 4:22 PM #21
I think you're worse.

Please stay out of intelligent threads.

You're just mad because he made a good point.
2006-08-19, 5:54 PM #23
I'm not mad.

He just made a stupid wannabe philosophical statement, in place of an actual point for or against my argument.
2006-08-19, 7:58 PM #24
There are just two different senses of the word traitor. The legal one and the friendship one.
