Marathon on Stargate: SG-1 is on now. A behind the scenes thing is on in a few hours I think. The Furling are appearing tonight. Atlantis is spose to be good.

Tonight is the night for Stargate.

Furlings did appear!

I couldn't stop laughing in that episode.

It was pretty damn funny. The funniest thing was the younger, hipper SG-1.
All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

Excellent episode. The puppets nearly had me in tears!

That... was awesome :P

I am definitely saving this episode in the DVR.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

I thought the REAL Furlings were going to appear, I thought this was a real episode. It was funny and I liked it, but it felt like a waste of an episode.

I'm glad they did a "Wormhole X-TREME" type episode, where they kicked back and had a little fun.

I liked the "Make it spin!" part.

This was the funniest episode to day. Hilarious.

"We... are the Furlings"

As soon as I heard that, I knew it was gonna be great. "Window of Opportunity" now has some competition for its title of funniest SG-1 episode ever. Can't wait for 300!

Too bad Atlantis kinda sucked though.

What's the deal with Stargate anyways? Last year Space was showing at least three different episodes per day. I caught a few, some good, some meh, some I didn't stick around to finish. Do you have to start at episode one season one to get it or is it more like Star Trek where you can really just watch the good ones?

Best to start at the beginning because there are some stroy arcs that span a season, several seasons, etc.

I started watching during Season 7. It took me pretty much the entire season to figure out what was going on, but now I've seen pretty much every single episode. If you are watching with someone, they can explain things as they come up.

If possible, catch some of the "clip" episodes. I think there's one for at least each of the first seven seasons, not sure about seasons eight and nine. Basically, they explain most of the major story arcs that have occured so far in the season and/or series. But I would try to watch some of the earlier episodes. The first two seasons have, at least in my opinion, some of the best episodes of the series.

I agree, but I would extend that right up until Daniel ascendes. Although he's still there, technically, he's still not on the team, even though Jonas is great replacement, too. It just didn't feel the same after that. I still havn't seen any of the newer episodes, when RDA leaves, and I'm not sure I want to...

SciFi Insider Summary:

*Minor spoiler: Daniel Jackson will not ascend again, but Shanks said his character will be something in between ascension and material.

Sounds like something that is phonetically close to my name!

*Michael Shanks didn't really like Anubis, he likes the idea of the Ori

*Amanda Tapping likes the idea of the Ori, says it's resembling fundamentalist religious groups that are ruling by fear today.

*Chris jumped on Shanks while he was laying down in his trailor

*Gary Jones (Walter AKA Gateguy) kept asking the crew and cast if they knew if he was on the 200th episode

*The idea behind a Zat gun's third blast was a mistake according to the producers, so they made it into a joke in Wormhole X-TREME!

*The producers think of Stargate SG-1 as a slow burning candle (rather than something like a quick fuse with a great explosion)

*Chris is the target of the most practical jokes, because he's "easy". One time they were in the infermary, and Chris fell asleep. The director told everyone to get out. Five minutes later he woke up and it took him a while to realize where he is, then he wondered where everyone went.

*David Hewlett (Rodney McKay) made a guest appearance, thanking the SG-1 team for helping his career.

*Claudia Black (Vala) and Beau Bridges (General Landry) both commented that being on the 200th was (in no certain quotes) like jumping on the train for the ride.

*RDA showed up in sweats and a T. Random!

*The original auditions had 3 Samantha Carters, 3 Daniel Jacksons, and "like 10 Teal'c's" according to Chris. Amanda Tapping and Michael Shanks both met up and rode home to the same hotel, wished each other well, and hoped each got the part. According to Chris, the Teal'c's were like a rainbow (had an asian teal'c, a spanish looking teal'c, etc.)

*They showed how Teal'c lost his upper body fat and gained muscel, and how Michael Shanks evolved Daniel Jackson into the character is today.

*Michael Shanks almost didn't get the part, as he was 25, and his character was suppose to look younger...yet Daniel Jackson had 4 PHd's, spoke 7 languages, etc.

*Showed different Amanda Tapping hair styles. Tapping originally had long hair, but due to the military part of the show, she cut it. She grew it back after season 7 I believe, went to europe, and no one recognized her. She cut it again and everyone did.

From what I've heard... apparently he Becomes a priori at some point and SG-1 Finds him preaching the Good parts of Origin to the inhabitants and trying to win them over with faith instead of trying the doom and gloom approach.

The official announcement will come this week, but SG-1 will NOT be renewed by SCI-FI after this season. :( :( :( :( :(

Atlantis will continue on, however.

Plus, season 2 of Doctor Who has been picked up by SCI-FI as well.

I'll just say this: Amanda Tapping is WAY more attractive with her ear/near-neck length hair as opposed to the shorter "butch" haircut from the early seasons.

Thank God. It's time to put it to rest. It's had its spectacular run.

SG1 'ended' when they defeated the Goauld. Since then, it's just been the same story over again.

It's still awesome, of course... but it bugs the hell out of me at times. Why do all the planets have star gates sitting out in the wilderness? And. Other stuff. It doesn't even match StarTrek in 'realism', and ST sucks ***. And it can't go anywhere near BSG.
Wikissassi sucks.

And, noone mentioned the FarScape cameo? That's especially awesome because two of the actors (Vola and MacGuyver's replacement) were the stars of FarScape.
Wikissassi sucks.

SG-1 isn't ending, merely Sci-Fi won't be carrying it. MGM is looking to keep SG-1 going, they're just not sure how, especially since they already had everything arrainged and lined up for season 11.

true... and they can't completely get rid of all the sets and such... Atlantis will probably still need to use them occasionally.
