If any of you checked the main page, you may have seen this. Anyone else think it looks like a updated JK? No force powers either!!

I'm impressed. I hope it's fun and not another let down.

I'm surprised it's been under wraps for so long, given the estimated release date.

The game takes place just a few months before Episode IV. You will play a Twi'lek mercenary named Rianna Saren. The game marks her first appearance in the Star Wars universe. Early in the game, she is recruited by the alliance to infiltrate Empire-controlled planets and ultimately steal the plans of the Empire's most powerful weapon: the Death Star.[/u] I suggest gamers watch the beginning of Episode IV again to understand the link between this game and the saga.

Does this mean that the plot of the original Dark Forces will now be considered non-canon?
2006-08-18, 11:27 PM #6
The entry at Wookieepedia on Death Star plans indicates that Kyle and R2 etc only acquired a portion of the plans. So I guess they could use the same plot again without it breaking canon.

And the fact that Kyles just the guy that got his hands on it first, no tellin if it was ever recaptured, or if its just been changing hands to the point that she gets it from someone.

I can say it looks and seems kinda neat, but I'd rather want that Darth Vader game than this.

Oh well, Star Wars canon makes no sense anyway :P

Kyle Katarn is an OG though, he totally got the plans

Besides, all we know so far is she is trying to steal them, my instincts are saying they'll do a bait and switch to followup on something else by the end of the storyline.

didnt many bothans die to bring us this information?
2006-08-19, 3:58 AM #12
That was the second Death Star.

Also, only DS or PSP? :|

I believe the 'many bothans' line was in reference to a ship getting shot down

As long as I get to pwn stormies on my DS in style, I'm happy.

"Like any good Star Wars game, you can expect to see many of its hallmark characters including Boba Fett, Kyle Katarn, Princess Leia and of course, the Lord of the Sith himself, Darth Vader"

Oh yess! But for some reason those graphics don't really impress me.. I was impressed more by the E3 demo. :( Perhaps two different projects?
Nothing to see here, move along.

The demo was about force powers. This game has no force powers.

The graphics are that low because it's PSP / DS only. Two different games.

Sucks that I don't have a PSP. I'd love to play that.

That was a test to see if anyone reads the main page. I guess someone does.

I wouldn't care, normally, but since I recently bought a DS Lite, this looks interesting.
