Just ordered MotS
2004-06-25, 9:27 AM #1
I never owned MotS other than the 3 level expansion disc that came with my first copy of Jedi Knight (which came bundled also with Dark Forces). But today, I decided to open myself up to the rest of what JK had to offer (mostly because of Grismath) and buy MotS from Lucasarts. But best of all, I'm getting it free. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] Rent.com sent me a $100 visa card for renting a listing through them. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] So I'm now on a mission to buy some of the other games I've been eye-ing for a while. Any budget titles / good cheap games I ought to look out for whilst ordering on the net? / Places to order them?? [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

unfortunately the only reliable source where I could get just MotS (in the original packaging and not bundled with another copy of JK) was from Lucasarts. So I only have like... $78.20 left. I want some good budgetware games that I might not have looked at. I already have a preorder out on HL2 and DooM III so I want something I normally wouldn't have looked at. Preferably FPS or maybe RTS... But if it's really good give me anything... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

The warlords battlecry series was pretty nifty.

Go with star crusader or nox though. They are pretty good.

I always remember when I got Homeworld 1 month after it was released for (somewhat) $9. Brand new. That was kinda.. cool.

But MotS is cooler. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

After getting too bored to wait for shipping I headed over to Best Buy. I then purchased:

Contract J.A.C.K (the prequel to NOLF)
Starcraft
Starcraft: Brood Wars
Dark Age of Camelot
Activision Anthology: Remix Edition
and Jedi Academy.

[http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] I'm sure I'll play none of these for a while once I get my shiny new copy of MotS in the original packaging all brand new and shiny... hehehe...

BMT is a good game... your opinion doesn't count

you just need to learn that a console game is best played with something other than your keyboard that's the only problem BMT has is it's painful to try to play it with a keyboard

I don't have them either. But than again, I royally suck at Strategy games, I don't have the mindset at all to play them, so that could be why.

Dark Age of Camelot has a 13 dollar a month fee now, and with the new expansion coming out everyone needs to have atleast the Shrouded Isles expansion. The game is good, but it's so old there isn't much for n00bs and begginers. BTW, you can have my Trials of Atlantis expansion for free, I don't play MMO's anymore, they are a waste of time and money. They basically took over my friends life, it's all he plays [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

Check into the Zork series. The text adventures should now be free. They're great, it's like an interactive book. The graphical series is quite phenominal, starting with Return to Zork, Zork Nemesis, then Zork Grand Inquisitor. I only have Return to Zork, and that game is simply amazing. I think there's even a fourth now...

Because, iirc, it's still the second-most played non-MMO game out there. With CS being first-most played.

Um...no?

SC does have a lot of people with cracked CD keys (it is easy to get a legit mp CD key for that game), but most people buy it. I'd guess Starcraft's sales gross over 10 million.

It seems like the big thing now are "bundles" For example, I got Morrowind+Bloodmoon/Tribunal for $30. I also found a Command and Conquer pack. Renegade, Tiberian Sun+Firestorm, and Red Alert 2+Yuri's Revenge for $20.

Great. Now download YKS:1 & 2 and play them. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

BTW, I have a much better looking from-scratch remake of YKS:1 in my backups-- YKS:1 SE. I may just finish that up and release it as a replacement to the original YKS:1.

The University of North Carolina has finally found a network server that, although missing for four years, hasn't missed a packet in all that time. Try as they might, university administrators couldn't find the server. Working with Novell Inc., IT workers tracked it down by meticulously following cable until they literally ran into a wall. The server had been mistakenly sealed behind drywall by maintenance workers.
