Atleast that's one of the many many rumors floating around. Nintendo is going to announce the price and release date of the Wii within a week or two, so what do YOU think it's going to cost and when do you think it's going to come out? Keep in mind it should release on a sunday like every other Nintendo console ever released (or almost every console, I'm not sure).

I'm guessing mid October with a price range between $180 - $200

Wasn't the official pricing in Japan equivalent to something like $248 or somesuch?

I say $250 for mid October/early November. Hopefully before PS3 launch.

Everything that I've read about the Wii has convinced me to actually purchase a console for the first time since the Sega Genesis.

It's going to be before the PS3 launch, but I don't think it's going to be $250. I keep seeing really low numbers out there from various game companies guessing the price. I don't think it will bust $200.

I haven't bought a system since Dreamcast... And I won't... Because nobody makes as good a console as Sega used to.

I thought it was going to be somewhere in November with a ~$230 price tag. $180 seems too cheap.

I'm going to guess November at around $220.

Which somehow in game company terms translates to £200 over here next March.

I've talked with Uberslug about why I think the PS3 isn't going to win this console round. I'm too lazy to type it all out again, but I am very certain that it'll fail, compared to the PS2.

I'm also guessing November, with a price tag of $200. Seems to be the Nintendo staple so far. Even if Nintendo sells the Wii for $250, it'll still be cheaper then their competitors, and I don't really see it going over $250.

Xbox/360 all the way.
My interest in the Wii is limited to just knowing about it and what it'll do. I don't have any interest in owning one.

I swear I remember getting our NES for 140 or something, not 200. I don't know how long after it came out we bought it, though. Damnit, I can't remember much from when I was a kid. I remember every fakking secret in the original zelda, though!!!

I wasn't planning to get any of the new consoles. I have a microsoft fanboy friend who has been doing his best to convince me to get an xbox360, but I really have no interest.
When he was showing me a video for some game or other.. there was a link to some Wii stuff. I clicked that, and oh man... I have to get a Wii.

I'm also going to guess around early November with about a $225 price tag. Though, I read a recent quote by some higher-up at Nintendo saying they will be selling the Wii for a loss, so $180 seems possible, though not necessarily likely.
