Thinking about a fileplanet subscription..

As much as I HATED it when fileplanet decided the pay for good servers thing was the way to go, having a subscription is starting to look more and more worth it as time goes on.

^I mean seriously. Thats some bad radness I need to get in on.

Their subscription rates aren't that bad. Go for it.

Even though i dislike robs and hes angrier then granpapy joe without his medicene bugmenot still rules all!

[But that won;t get you into the beta... So ya go for it]

^ Do you even bother reading the thread?

Anyway, you can do Fileplanet Quarterly if you need the beta. I believe you can pay just for a short while instead of signing up for a subscription for months.

Tiberium Empire doesn't read anything.

He just posts whatever idiocy his feeble mind cannot contain.

It all depends. I've only used fileplanet on several occasions, but if you use it often, go ahead.

Downloading from Fileplanet can be a pain in the rear often when you have a free account. But so many files today are hosted by Fileplanet, I probably need to get a paid account sooner or later. Meh.

They get alot of betas to games nowadays.

You know, it'd be cool if that had a service for new, cutting edgeish, MP games where you can pay X amount of dollars a month and play any game on the list you want, however much you want.

I don't get into MP games anymore as much as I used to, and it'd be cooler to have a setup where I could have access to alot of MP content for a static amount of money per month.

That's not a bad deal. Plus it comes with 3 magazine subscriptions, which is nice.

What's the big difference between the medium service and the best service?

I mean, I'm trying to save for wii over here. :P

What's this? "The man"-hating Rob, submitting himself to the nigh-irresistable persuasions of "the man?" What's going on here?

Who ever said I hate the man?

Perhaps, strong disdain.

But not anywhere near as bad as the dutch kid or yourself.

I feel like I'm losing a brother in the good fight. :(

Use FileMirrors.com to search for mirrors by filename. Use torrents for other recent files such as betas. It's free, and if the files are new and popular, the torrents will be just as fast.

I download at 700KBPS from Fileplanet on the free servers. I've never seen a torrent go above 350.
2006-08-28, 10:07 PM #17
It depends on the torrent and how many people are seeding and how much bandwidth they have. New files would max out my bandwidth at RIT.

I would never wish those scams on anyone. BestBuy has the "free magazine subscription" crap also. There's a reason that the cheap choice has the magazines, and the expensive one doesn't.

Simply put, you get a certain number of magazines free, then they automatically sign you up and charge you for the next year's subscription unless you specifically call them and tell them not to. Oh, and cancelling that magazine subscription is insanely hard. They'll fight you to the bitter end to keep the magazines, and they'll sometimes even pull an AOL and simply not cancel it anyway.

I hear these unfortuante stories ALL the time at BestBuy and its been on the news quite a bit. Just some fair warning.

Fileplanet is awesome.
Oh wait, no that was five years ago.

Meh.
