When you write - Printing or Cursive?
2006-08-31, 8:20 PM #1
I print, because it's not as poor as my cursive.... I wasn't gifted with beautiful penmanship like some people =\

So how about you? Do you usually write in cursive or in print?
May the mass times acceleration be with you.

A mixture of both.
2006-08-31, 8:23 PM #3
Cursive. Mostly only I have to read my writing now (yay middle school, not elementary!) and it FLOWS unlike printing. Flowing is very important to me. My handwriting isn't that great though.

My printing REALLY suffers because I can't make straight lines or very good looking circles, they always end up looking off.

And did you know that the terrorist cells in the Middle East print? Yep, well known fact. If you print, you're a terrorist.
I had a blog. It sucked.

I write in print, but people often mistake it for cursive. It's that bad. (Or totally awesome)

Cursive. You can write faster. Print is for morons and little girls who use hearts to dot their I's.

print that occasionally runs together cursive-like

Fincham: I meant where are you sitting. This wasn't an existential question.

You can not, actually, write faster in cursive. You can write fastest by mixing. Some letters flow naturally together. One letter's stroke ends where another begins; fine, just go right along. But other times, pick the pen up (or just don't press as you drag right across the letter you just wrote) to avoid twisting up a letter to make the strokes line up.

I don't remember the source - it was something about why doctors handwritting is so bad - but it went into great detail about why forcing students to learn a particular style of cursive in grade school was rather bad for their writing in the long run. Especially considering so many people seem to just disregard it. I certainly couldn't pass my second grade cursive writing test now, and believe me - I write way faster than I could writing the cursive I was taught, and it's much more legible.
Wikissassi sucks.

I print because it's faster. I only use cursive for signing my signature (as expected, obviously)

Cursive is always more difficult to read, in my opinion. I prefer everyone print.
2006-08-31, 9:11 PM #15
Completely print because it's easier to read and most comfortable for me, except that I loop my g's and q's. When I took the SAT this year and they REQUIRED I write the little 'I won't cheat' in cursive it was SO weird.
2006-08-31, 9:15 PM #16
I print because I gave up cursive for some weird reason. I think it was because a teacher required print and I never changed back.
2006-08-31, 9:22 PM #17
Cursive. The muscles in my hand aren't that responsive, so it's easier to write it in one go than having to move your pen in opposite directions constantly.

Printing is good for crosswords, though.

Mixture of both, usually

A hybrid of both. It's legible and looks cool. It's much faster than either.

In middle school they stopped requiring me to write in coursive. I have not written anything significant in cursive since, and I now have difficulty with any cursive letter not used by my signature.

I print, and throughout the years my writing has progressively become sloppier and sloppier because I'm so used to typing

Print mostly. I feel like posting my handwriting now. I think I have cool handwriting.

I often print so fast that a lot of letters come out looking like their cursive counterparts, s's especially.

Who the hell writes in total cursive
That's like, third grade, when they forced you to

Whenever they make you sign those stupid affirmation of self statements on standardized tests in all-cursive it takes me like five minutes to write, and the thing is four sentences long.

I just write in really fast print that's become my own little font set haha .. I guess the only "cursive" letters I make are ds (because I trail the tail to the next character as I don't bother to pick up my pencil fully), and only when they're linked to an a, and g and y (because of the tails).

I write my lowercase Fs, though, like an integral (very thin) with a line through it :P

I do that when I'm writing lowercase t as a variable so it doesn't come off as a +.

I curse while printing.

Mostly because those stupid printers are too slow.

I write in allcaps. Smaller letters = lowercase.

My handwriting is horrible when I do it the regularly.

I don't even remember all the cursive letters.
