And i have to say I like it! It's Even better than my customized version of IE 6 lol. I like the simple layout and the nice large screen. It was also extremely easy to setup and use. All good stuff. And yes I also voted on it at GBK's little form thingy.

What are your comments on it?

There is no browser but Firefox. I use it constantly, I have about 5 or 6 version of it on this computer.

I like the nightly builds, though they sometimes are buggy.

Love it.

One of the best things is the way it seems to block all javascript alert windows and those annoying dialer plugins. Tabbed browsing is great, it saves me so much space on my taskbar.
Oh and if you are using IE, i suggest you reead this

I like using IE, since it is a good browser in general terms (aside from security holes, etc.) but I'm growing increasingly fond of Firefox.

The only thing IE has on its side is that its bundled with Windows. It is not superior to Firefox in any way, technical, aesthetic, or usability.

He hasn't converted me... I have FireFox, but I don't care for it too much, I still prefer IE.

The google toolbar works wonders for blocking pop-ups. I run AdAware and SpyBot every other day or so, and it's very rare for either to find anything, unless I installed new software, otherwise I don't think it's ever found anything.

I don't care much for tabbed browsing, I like having all the windows grouped in the taskbar (with the help of Tweak UI I have it set to automatically group each program right away, instead of waiting for the taskbar to get cluttered... and my taskbar is rarely ever more than 3 'bars' long, and never more than 2 icons in the system tray, so I've always got plenty of free space on the task bar.

I've noticed the formatting of a few webpages I've visited doesn't quite display as well in FireFox as it does in IE, generally pages with tables... it's rare, but it does happen.

Beyond those general points, I see no reason to switch to FireFox... it's no faster than IE for me... and I get too much of a netscape feel from the way FireFox loads pages... something with the way it loads the images I think.

The only reason I can think of to switch to FireFox is the security holes in IE... but I run windows update every day or two, and since I hardly ever go to any websites beyond those 5 that are in my favorites, I'm fairly certain I'm safe.

I just installed the Linux version of Firefox, and it's pretty good.

After a lifetime of .exe files, It took me awhile to figure out that the linux version uses a glorified shell script as an executable. so much to learn....

Opera. Last time I checked (about 3 months ago) Opera used less memory, was faster at lodaing and rendering pages, had more features, a better download manager and was more customizable. Firefox must have come some way if it's now better.

go figure... Microsoft tries to find those responsible, but the article said nothing about any microsoft efforts to improve the damn browser... IE is not merely buggy-- it is fundamentally flawed design-wise and as such IE should be scrapped and rebuilt from the ground up. However, hell will probvably freeze over by the time Microsoft goes to the trouble to do all that...

It is a very, very split issue. Opera is faster, but Firefox is slightly more customizable, only because of the massive amount of extentions. However, Opera comes with much better and more strating features, and the interface is much more customizable.

Opera never seemed faster to me, only faster maybe because it loaded cached pages, which is sometimes good and sometimes bad. It's rendering engine always seemed inferior to Gecko, that is the main reason I use Mozilla based browsers. Also, memory use is a moot point for machines with a decent amount of memory. And I'm talking like 384 MB.

I'm still an IE heathen. Though as soon as I get my own computer I'm gonna change. I actually don't have a choice since Georgia Tech requires Mozilla for their systems.

I can understand how grouping would be a problem when that happens. But the most windows I've ever had open of the same program is probably somewhere around 10 and it was pretty easy for me to navigate through the list.

Haven't had a worm yet... that's not to say I won't get one, but if I do, well then all I can say is oh well. I'll take my chances.

So far, in the.... 5, 6 years I've been using Internet Explorer, I've gotten only one virus, I got it twice, and it was from the software that Heat.net used a long time ago (is that even still around, haven't heard anything about it in forever, and I remember seeing commercials all the time for it... bah who cares it sucked anyway (imo anyway)) (the first time I got it, can't say I knew it was there, so I fixed the problem, and, to test whether or not it was their software, I reinstalled it, and found it was... then got yelled at by their techs saying it wasn't their software... but oh well, whatever. Can't say I've ever had any worms, trojans, etc... either. Nothing more than ad-ware that comes in software with banner ads.

The only website's I visit are

Massassi.net
gmail.google.com/gmail
Streetglow.com/forums
Ebaumsworld.com
ctrlaltdel-online.com
Howstuffworks.com

Every now and then a few other websites are visited, such as the mail service for a local college so my fiance can check her e-mail, or yahoo!'s e-mail service.

Other than that I might visit a few online stores so I can shop for car parts, car information, and neon lighting for my car, (generally the websites for each don't change, and it's only like 4 different sites total) and I've yet to have any problems with them.
