My next uber item to have.

Apple 30" Cinema HD Display

I WANT THAT NOW.

... The only downside is the price tag. 4,000 buckaroos. I noticed the others went up in price as well, perhpas this means the older versions of the monitors will come down big time in price. I'd love to have a 23" flat panel, but the most I could ever hope to afford would be the 20". Guess I'll have to see later.

So to make this legit, post the hardware items you'll never be able to afford. Or the comments, which I'm sure many of you have, on this display.

[edit] Changed my link. Apparently my session timed out for the Apple Store so it wasn't viewable. I have it doing straight to the 3 new displays now, if you want to see price tags, you have to go through the store yourself. [/edit]

I'll buy 2 PC's for the price of that monitor

Exactly. You can, but that thing is awesome. 30 freaking inches of monitor. I'd kill to have one. I'm a freak for really sexy big monitors. It is both in my opinion.

I still have yet to replace my dying 8-Y.O. 15" NEC monitor.

The University of North Carolina has finally found a network server that, although missing for four years, hasn't missed a packet in all that time. Try as they might, university administrators couldn't find the server. Working with Novell Inc., IT workers tracked it down by meticulously following cable until they literally ran into a wall. The server had been mistakenly sealed behind drywall by maintenance workers.

Pagewizard, a 17" is only $100. I bought 8 of 'em for $50 each. I sold 6 for anywhere between $50 and $85.

I would love that apple monitor.

Yes.. but it's not the same. This way, you could buy four of these ($16,000) and then have one massive display.

Exactly. It wouldn't be nearly as sexy either.

I can't wait until our local CompUSA gets a hold of one. I really hope this means the price tag on the older ones come down. I've been eyeing the 20" one for awhile now...

I looked at the monitors when I was out buying printer ink and there wasn't a 17" for less than $150.

Why, exactly, do you feel the need to murder me and dig me a shallow grave in "hell[/i]"?

That's actually very cheap for such a large display with such a large resolution.

Considering I can watch just about any format of video and still play all my games on it using my computer I find that to be a spectacular deal.

Edit: NM, 30 inches isn't what I was thinking I saw when I saw it. It's only about 11 inches larger than my current monitor. None the less I've always wanted to use a 42"+ size plasma display for my computer monitor since it would go great with my futon being just behind me in a theater like setup (my room has the surround sound set up in all four corners).

What I find ironic is that many of us hate macs with a passion, yet some of us overlook the fact that Mac Os is derived from a form of OpenBSD, which is a lot like the various forms of linux that a lot of us use.

Toting linux is mostly a e-penis competition. Very little about any of the NT5 and newer windows OS' is in any way as bad a the *nix nerds want you to believe. As a matter of fact, if Linux wasn't free, it wouldn't have even half the fan base it does today. People like to take things they get for free and make it worth more than it really is.
