From what you have seen, what do you think? I think I will buy it the day it is released.

Pretty much the only new game I'm even remotely interested in these days.

Oh yes. Spore looks like it will steal more of my life than SWG did. I wonder what interesting things i can create...

(yes i am bored again, dont worry i wont be here long)
This is not the sig you are looking for. Move along.
2006-09-09, 7:11 PM #4
I think it looks pretty boring.
2006-09-09, 7:20 PM #5
Looks spiffy, Ill see if all the hype pans out, then pick it up.

Besides TF2, Portal and Bioshock, this is the only game that has caught my interest in a while.

Since it's all procedurally generated, I'll definitely get it. I love things that are procedurally generated.

Procedurally generated.

Are you friggin kidding me? Supreme Commander, for one, I expect to feed my Total Annihilaiton urges.

I don't know what to think about TF2, as they are capitalizing on the original's bad physics :ninja:
This is retarded, and I mean drooling at the mouth

And even if you are not interested in Spore the game, check out this link of Robin Williams making a creature in the demo of Spore... it's great for a laugh

Caution: there might be some Language in this video - I watched it with no speakers, so I'm not sure.

When this game comes out my city models are going to all be enormous phalluses.

I wish the game were online and massive so that there would be an entire galaxy of such cities that coincidentally developed in the same way completely independently of each other.

funny you should say that.. cause that is how it WORKS! there are literally MILLIONS of worlds you can visit, and most of them are from other users. check out the first link that I posted.. if it doesn't say it there (havn't watched the whole thing yet) then look around.. i saw on one of the videos at the game's offical site that this is how it works. Look for the video here..

I thought somebody mentioned that you could go to "other worlds," but it would not be interactive and draw from other players of the game.

If it works the way you say it does, this is the greatest game in the universe and I will get it as soon as I can.

When you play, the content comes from other players. The AI just takes over for everyone else as far as actual playing goes.
2006-09-09, 11:02 PM #15
Look like it could be a lot of fun, I might just get it after it comes out.

Seriously, it's the only game that even remotely sparks my interest.

I'm not even remotely interested in it. Aside from the game not appealing to me, it also looks like one of those massive projects which receives insane hype and then fails to pan out.

I'm skeptical because of this; not dismisssive.

Oh, don't get me wrong. The hype only makes me skeptical, I'm dismissive because the game doesn't grab my interest.

My colleague describes it as The Sims for boys.

It looks interesting, but I'll wait for the reviews.

Did you even WATCH the videos?

You must be insane if you have. If not, just ignorant.

I'm ignorant for having an opinion that differs to your own? Nice going.

No, you're ignorant for not watching the videos. Once you do you'll want the game.

I've seen recent videos of Spore already. It's the concept behind it that doesn't grab my interest, which is what I think I've said already.
2006-09-10, 12:26 PM #25
Wow free, someone doesn't like a concept, and you think they're crazy?

I'll get spore, but it's not AMAZING OMG to me. It's almost what I'd expect out of games. I'm hoping we see more adult games with a similar creation feature soon. Designing an entire race of warriors to do RTS/FPS battle with would be fun.

This concept is just the beginning. I wouldn't be surprised to find someone uninterested in this. I'm sure Livid is respectful of the awesome technology.

that comic is funny, but I really think this game is sweet, and although it looks VERY cartoonish, i think that will depend on HOW the player makes the creatures. Plus the fact that you can design the buildings and vehicles and everything.. trees and stuff too.. they also said that there are over a million planets you can visit (which on a computing level is AWESOME) and as long as one other person in the world is still playing Spore, then there will always be new content. and when you stumble on to someone els's creature, you can find their user name and look for other creatures from the same person.. so it will kinda be like a creature myspace... o_O

Glad you're keeping an open mind and not being a moron for completely stupid reasons that are completely unjustified. Because if you were I might be asking you what the hell is your problem.

Er...wait...

What the hell is your problem?
I had a blog. It sucked.

The second part is obviously true. The first part is my opinion.

It looks like the Sims for biologists.

Myself, I'm not sure what I think about it. Something this unique and innovative has the potential to be really awesome, but it also has a relatively high bust factor. I'll probably wait for reviews before I decide on buying it.

I will say, though that the IGN demo video looks very cool.

I'm quite excited for this, and actually glad it got delayed into next year. The last thing we want is this turning out like Black & White, great potential, flawed execution due to glitches and a few other reasons. >.>;;

Black and White 2 had a lot of hype and ended up being a really sucky game. :(

It left a scar in my heart that makes me afraid for Spore.
2006-09-14, 7:19 AM #37
This is one of the few games that I'm actually excited about, too.

Because of World of Warcraft sucking up so much of my time, I haven't played many other games in a while.
2006-09-14, 7:21 AM #38
Spore, Supreme Commander and Bioshock, in that order are the only games i'm looking forward to, with spore a long way in the lead.
