From the Wikipedia article on echolocation: Ben Underwood. Diagnosed with retinal cancer at the age of two, he had his eyes removed at the age of three. He was taught about echolocation and now uses it to accomplish such feats as running, rollerblading, foosball and skateboarding. At least one reporter claims to have witnessed him playing video games-how exactly is not mentioned. He does not use a white cane but is able to detect not only the position, size and frequently composition of objects near him, but sometimes their shape.

Wait for the last 30 seconds. Looks like the worldwide launch started yesterday. Lucky. Lucky. Lucky. (Also, the story itself is pretty amazing)
Think while it's still legal.

I like how it took a Wii to get people interested in that guy, his story isn't new at all, but no one cared until "OMG, HES GOT TEH WII!"

At least he won't complain about the underpowered graphics.

I heard about the echolocation thing several years ago. It was an older man who was able to ride his bike in the street without difficulty, and he was teaching other children how to use echolocation as well. It's actually pretty cool, you can wander around your house at night to get a base sense of it, but I'm no where near being able to differeniate objects.
