Godwin's Law of Nazi Analogies: As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one.

It's been around for a while, but I haven't seen it mentioned here. Even though we try to avoid it, it is still an issue.

I think Massassi has recently been able to avoid the issue because the "Godwin's Law of Nazi Analogies" has been addressed (although not by that name) on these forums many times.

But is this only a good thing? Surely comparing everything to Nazis and Hitler is an overkill, but what if history really does repeat itself? Should we really disregard all analogies related to the Nazi party and Hitler as "playing the Nazi/Hitler card" or are there instances in which making such analogies is valid?
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.
