Well maybe not, but I bought one the other day, it came free with Super Monkeyball, then I bought Metroid Prime: Hunters & Phoenix Wright: Ace Attourney. Now I wanna hear what you fine folk have to say about DS games, I need more!

An rpg would be nice, but I heard the DS is currently lacking in that department. Another game i'd like would be something I can just pick up and play for when I have a spare 5 minutes, as Monkeyball is brainmeltingly intense, Metroid is a slowburner and Phoenix Wright isnt for every situation.

Post some awesome!

I think what fishstickz is trying to tell you is that you should buy a game called Mario Kart.

Though I may be wrong...

The games I own:

New Super Mario Bros.[/u] (action-platformer, primarily non-stylus game)
The controls were a little weird at first, but I soon got used to them, and I enjoyed its old-school Mario goodness. My only major complaint would be that the new items don't really get much use. Past the first level, I don't really remember seeing the Mega Mushrooms in levels (though you can get them at Mega Mushroom houses), and the Blue Shell, while neat, is hard to use for most levels, making it more of a challange for expert players than an advantage in a tough situation. I found the Mini Mushroom, strangely enough, to be the best new item they offered. I beat it rather quickly, but there's a bit of replay value in trying to get all the special coins.

Starfox Command (flight-arcade shooter, primarily stylus game)
Again, the controls were strange at first, but once I got used to them, they feel quite good. The storyline (the dialogue in particular) is rather horrendous, but it's skippable. I think the added strategy element is a nice addition to the Starfox series, as you have to decide which characters to use where and whatnot in between battles. My only major complaint would be the time element, because it forces you to go for ONLY the specific bad guys you need to look for, and not explore and hunt down the other stuff that's around too, but I understand the reason for the time element, and was probably a good choice. The multiplayer over wi-fi is cool too.

Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time (RPG, non-stylus game)
I would only suggest this if you're a big Mario fan like me. The puzzles and the like always fustrated me in this game and the GBA game before, as did some of the controls. The Bros. Attacks are fun, though it's really easy to crush bosses once you get ice flowers (which lower their stats) and badges which raise your POW with successful Bros. attacks. It's definately appealing to Mario fans though, with the many references to past Mario games they make, and there's no real problems with combat control or grinding.

MarioKart DS[/u] (racing, non-stylus game)
I would arguably say this is the best MarioKart game available. It's a real fun racing game, and lets you play some of the tracks from the other MarioKart series (which is especially fun when you see the 3-D versions of the SNES and GBA tracks). It also has wi-fi multiplayer, which is really fun.

Super Mario 64 DS[/u] (action, either)
If you've never played the original for the N64 or you're just a Mario nut like me, this is a good game. It's basically an updated version of the N64 game for the DS. It includes a multiplayer mode (not wi-fi) and a bunch of mini-games, as well as new stars and the like for the main game, which help add replay value. I find the controls, however, a lot more difficult than for the original N64 -- I've beaten the original relatively easily, and yet some of the same challanges in the DS version are harder simply because of the controls. I got it soley because I could play Super Mario 64 the way it was meant to be played -- with Luigi <.<

Kirby's Canvas Curse[/u] (action, stylus only)
If you've played Kirby games before, it'll seem a bit weird at first, but works well with the stylus. Not much to say about this one, except that it's Kirby goodness.

That's all I have at the moment. If anyone would like to play MarioKart or Starfox over the wi-fi, please talk to me so we can swap friend codes and good times to play against each other. :)

I don't see how New Super Mario is difficult to control. It's just like all the other 2d marios throughout history. You have super-speed, jump, and the d-pad. What's hard about that?

The mini-games on New Super Mario are pretty cool, too, and fun in multiplayer mode.

Someone here keeps telling me to get an old Castlevania game for DS. It's hard to find, you may have to get it on EBAY or something. They are coming out with a new one soon. Also, the new Zelda for DS should be out soon.

Not hard, but it feels different than past 2-d Mario games. Mario moves differently enough for me to have noticed, and it was enough to almost not want to get the game at first.

Also, the mini-games on the New SMB are virtually the same as the ones on Super Mario 64 DS, except there are less of them than on Super Mario 64 DS.

Hrm, still can't understand the control thing, it felt the same to me.

Re: the mini-games, I didn't get 64 DS because I already have it on my 64. And although I enjoyed the game, I didn't enjoy it enough to want to go back through the whole thing.

I believe the new super mario bros doesn't move from 0-max speed instantly, there's a bit of acceleration. I don't think that was there in the old Mario Bros.

I have Starfox: Command and Animal Crossing: Wild World.

Starfox: Command is awesome. Though the dialogue isn't top notch, the actual story elements end up being...interesting. You learn a lot more about the characters, depending on how you play through it.

Animal Crossing is f***ing awesome. Seriously. It's amazing that they packed such an intensely awesome game into such a tiny package.

I'm looking forward to getting Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. Supposed to be one of the best Castlevanias yet, and the ones for GBA (bar Circle of the Moon) were EXCELLENTLY done.

We'll see *fingers crossed*

Since buying Mario Kart I have realised that no other game I own matters. I shall be trading them all in for the new Mario game.

Does Animal Crossing need t'internet? I had trouble setting up my wireless and haven't bothered trying it in weeks.

The dialogue was never that great, but I guess there's a lot more of it in Starfox Command and there's more of a story in it... *shrug*

For RPGs, FFIII will most definitly be the ebst bet once it comes out. Partners in time wa alright, and i enjoyed it, but it wasn't all that great, and not at all as good as the last Mario & Luigi games.

I also heard the Mario Hoops 3 on 3 was increadibly awesome. ahven;t played it yet myself, but i'm hoping to get it soon.

Games[/b]? There's only Partners in Time and Superstar Saga. I certainly hope you're not confusing it with the 2 Paper Mario games or Super Mario RPG for the SNES. :p

How difficult can it be to port an old NES game (FF3)?

WANT.

they've pretty much made it from the ground up, new features, new pretty graphics, some new music, its already out in Japan I think, just a job of translating it now.

I don't own it, but Phoenix Wright: Ace Attourney rocks.

Animal Crossing doesn't need the internet, though it increases gameplay immensely.
