You were a marine on a Mars base tampering with portal technology. Let's say they accidentally opened a portal to hell, and demons were pouring through. It was up to you to kill all the demons that were coming in through hell, and had to save humanity.

What gun would you use? The obligatory stereotypical pistol? How about a shotgun, or maybe a doubel barrelled shotgun? Maybe a chaingun suits you best? Rocket launchers are pretty good, or so I hear... But of course, who doesn't want to use the plasma rifle? Maybe your fist? Oh..wait...I know! CHAINSAW WITH UNLIMITED FUEL, *****! Of course, there's the BFG 9000, but that's only a rumor, so it's not included in this question.

Tie between double barrel and chaingun, personally.

Shotguns are for zombies, dude. Demons take more firepower. Chaingun.

Good point, good point. But wouldn't you argue trench spikes are even BETTER for zombie invasions? I mean for God's sake, haven't you read the Zombie Survival Guide? And double barrel shotgun, close range = sex.

Plasma rifle... New tech and fast firing rate. Particularly if it's from the first time I was on mars. That new one they gave me in the most recent demon invasion of that planet sucked. The clips were too small, and I had to reload to frequently.

Hey, where's the BFG?

Anyway, I take the plasma rifle (from the original doom, of course). Killing stuff with that thing was so satisfying. I just loved the sound that baby made :)

I just read the sequel to the Zombie Survival Guide, and I highly recomend it.

but,, being as Zombies != Demons, lets go over the pros and cons of each choice

Fists.
-extremely limited range, you'd have to be buff as all hell *snicker*

Chainsaw
-Limited range, demons can get within that range and you're screwed
-hack and slash!

Pistol
-little power
-depending on aim, mid-range

Shotgun
-shortish range
-powerful blast

Double barrel shotgun
-see above, add more powar

Chaingun
-ammo-usage overload
-powerful
-range

Rocket Launcher
-boom
-no short range use

Plasma Rifle
-overheating?
-what about fire demons, you're screwed

Pistol, I always use pistols. Mine would fire silver bullets. Not that it would help.

Anyway, surely demons could throw fire or whatever at you.

Without the need to reload, and with infinite ammo, the chaingun is the obvious answer.

Pull the trigger.

Let go when they are dead.

Well, then I suppose my choice would then depend on ammo supply..I'd take a shotgun with 20 rounds over a chaingun with 20 rounds...

'Twas a tough choice between the chainsaw and the double barreled shotgun, but the shotgun won. Too many memories of Mars invasion were I'd make all weapons magically appear in my supply and then taking the shotgun.
And remember, double the barrel, double the fun!

Chaingun. Good firepower, and if something started to go wrong, you would at least have a slight chance of trying to fix it. To fix a plasma rifle you would probably need a hi-tech laboratory.

The rocket launcher is obviously a secondary weapon. The pistol a sidearm. Both could be convenient under special circumstances, but not for the bulk work.
