Asking someone out...LOL!

So I says:
At first it's easy. You make jokes about how there is not God, and she laughs because, faithful or not, what you said was funny. Then time goes on, things are going well between you two. After a couple years, you ask her to marry you. Then her religious family starts paying attention to who you are and they hate you. They make her life hell. She starts to buckle, which forces her to rely on her faith. Then, suddenly and without warning, the parents are refusing to leave Hungary for the wedding of their daughter to some godless heathen Sodomite while she's a crying mess on the couch and you're asking yourself how an all loving god can instill so much hate in people.

Then she leaves you, becomes a nude model and moves to Las Vegas to go to culinary school.

While you're left in Reno alone and pissed that anyone ever made up the idea of God.

True?

No, she doesn't become a model, she becomes a cheap street whore because you wouldn't give her any due to her "headaches".
I had a blog. It sucked.

Well, it could happen.

Hungary? Why Hungary?

But anyways.

Maybe only from a sociopsychological perspective. Otherwise, no, it is not.

What proof is there that the Bible is correct? Why not analyze the Koran or the texts of Confucius?

A very weak argument. The fact that you can't disprove something doesn't mean it exists.

Can you disprove the existence of invisible spaghetti-monsters? No? That means they exist!

I had a bad situation with a girl once.

I'm Christian.
She was... "agnostic," which was a term I'd never heard of (I was only familiar with athiest... I'm still not sure what the difference is)

either way, we went to church once.
Only once.
I guess she doesn't really know what, if any, religion to believe.
I tried to tell her how i felt about God and religion on the ride home and she had her conflicting views.
This sums up most of the conversation:

"So basically you're telling me I'm going to hell?"
"uhhh..." *damned if I do, damned if I don't* "uhh... well you brought it up."
"But you DO believe that?"
"well...yeah..."
*feelcrappy*

I can't just say "no" and lie.
It's what I believe for the fate of non-christians. It's part of the religion, it's like a calling card.
It's not racisim, for crying out loud.
It's not an idea that came up after the US constitution came about that promotes some kind of hatred for one group and is unconstitutional, it's a religious belief factually approximately 2000 years in the making.
What do you want me to do about it?

It's not that I'm not willing to respect other peopl who aren't my religion, it's just that believing if you don't accept Jesus as your savior leads to not going to heaven is part of who I am and what my religion is mostly about.
I don't go out saying "UNBELIEVERS, BELIEVE ON GOD OR THERE WILL BE A CRUSADE."

I mean, it's the same way musilms won't come up to me and say "ALLAH WILL FORGIVE YOU IF YOU *blah blah blah*"

We all respect each other.
n stuff.
because it's america.
land of hte free
home of hte brave.
and I'm shutting up.

Anyway it didn't work out.
No way I'm going through that again.
I'm getting someone of the same religion next tiem, period.

How does not getting into a Christian Heaven mean other people are going to a Christina Hell? That doesn't compute at all.

Also, where are you getting that from anyway? I don't think there is anything in Christian scripture that says you are going to go to hell if you don't believe in Jesus.

Almost absolutely nothing. In fact, Gold, if you seriously studied world history and anthropology, you would find that there is little to no cultural evidence for major events in the Bible. No mention of anything from Egyptians, Romans, etc. In fact it seems more likely that the Bible lifted older stories. You heard me, it's likely that the writers of the Bible plagiarized older folk stories. Plagiarized. Stole. It's a fake, a fraud, and you fell for it.

Oh, and let's not forget the physical evidence of things such as the great flood. Oh no, you see, there IS evidence for that, but it suggests that the Bible was simply explaining natural disasters and attributing them to god because the (unwillingly) ignorant men of the time didn't know any better.

And don't tell me to read the Bible. I was born, raised and confirmed as a member of the Roman Catholic church. Now I'm agnostic atheist because I realized that I was nearly brainwashed into believing the biggest fraud in the history of mankind.

Because they are not the word of god, the Bible is. The Bible is the word of god and is therefore true. gg circular logic!!

But anyway, I've thought about it, and I'd certainly date someone of another religion, but I might have a hard time entering a long term relationship with someone who was relatively devout.

I have no problem dating girls of other Christian denominations or atheists, but I've never been in a situation where I've had the opportunity to date within religions that have more dramatic differences from mine... (e.g. Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc.) I guess I've gone on dates with self-proclaimed Buddhists and a girl who was Bahai, but now she's Quaker I think, and just very confused...
