NeS table of contents!
2006-10-01, 1:08 AM #1
I made something of a table of contents for the NeS! One small step into trying to make it a little more user-friendly, myself included. I'm way too excited about this... :ninja:

NeS table of contents!

It can always be found now in the second post of the NeS workshop thread. While it's technically still under construction (the blurbs mostly are way too rough), I'd appreciate any feedback you all could give (since you're not involved and thus have a bit more of a objective perspective on the matter). Anything that could or should be there that isn't? Blah blah blah, etc. etc.

Thanks for any replies you can give!

It's exciting for me, in any case. :)

A random tidbit: the average storyarc is 3-4 pages long. Not that it's a very accurate measure of length, since the length of a page can vary from page to page.

Reading the funky titles brings back memories. Memories of things like Cooked Haggis' introduction, Communist Soviet Russian Secret Intelligence Airlines and semi-apocalyptic London.

And then making me realise that seriousness makes TonyTW cry.

Also: This was probably more than due.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

I need more plotlines devoted to my character, I think.

What do you mean by "this was probably more than due?"

Also, I could be totally wrong on this, but I think a significant factor in NeS having a more serious side now (I'm assuming that's what "and then making me realise that seriousness makes Tony the writer cry" was about) is because there aren't any serious storythreads active. Back in the day, there was Saga of the Third War, The Shadows of Darkness, The Eternal War, Battle of the Nexus, etc. These days though (and for some time now), NeS has been predominantly the ONLY active storythread. There are other reasons, of course, but still.

Another random tidbit -- CookedHaggis' introduction as a snooty waiter-type was mostly my doing. If anyone is familiar with Haggis' work on TACC's ISB of old, they won't see this as much of a surprise -- it'd be like if someone introduced me into a storythread as a courageous battlemage or the like.

And yet another -- if memory serves me right, none of the characters in NeS appear to know his name for at least some 20 pages. He's never addressed or refered to by name from another character -- only dialogue tags let us, the reader, know that Haggis is talking.
