Free DVD Rippers
2006-10-01, 8:08 AM #1
My girlfriend's band performed a gig last Friday, and they recorded the entire gig with three cameras and burned it all to DVD. Now she wants to take a few songs off the DVD and put them on YouTube.

So... I'm looking for a good, free DVD ripper. I've been looking around for hours, but all I've been able to find is trial versions that let you only rip about 5 minutes, which makes it impossible to select the right clip because in most versions you can't even designate a starting point from where it should start ripping.

Any tips, Massassi? :)

This site does not permit or condone warez of any kind, so downloading AfterEffects would be illegal.

Hmmm, I downloaded that version of Handbrake for windows from that Forum thread, but I can't seem to get it to work.

It just won't open in windows, although I can open it in a dosbox, but I don't understand how to operate it at all. =\

I dont see any talk of warez or torrents in the first post in this thread, why are you guys making such a big deal about it?

I think he was just asking about "freeware" dvd rippers

Not so much his sarcasm meter as his "subtle-hint-o-meter"

LOL, Linux, LOL.

But seriously, dvdrip on Linux is a very nice program. But that's probably not what you wanted to hear...

Give this a try. I also am trying to look for a good one since I would like to use clips from DVDs for a speech of mine.
