Background story. A year or so ago, I bought some Shure E2c's because I was tired of being told to turn down my music, and listening to my dad's music as a result because it was too loud in the car on long trips. I'm pleased with them, they do their job nicely.

Last night I decided I'd start using them all the time, not just for trips. I mean, $50, I'm gonna get my use. So I pop them in, and damn, I didn't think that the sound quality was that bad. I rooted around for a long while, and found new wax protectors. I put them on after lots of trouble becasue they're small, sticky circles. Eventually, I get them on and pop them in, Damn, that's good sound.

So one of the wax covers comes off again tonight, new one goes on. No biggie, I'm just down to 1 extra cover. I look online for some more. ****ing ten DOLLARS American for 10 more of these plastic little circles. I was thinking maybe 3. Bah, whatever, I'm going to buy some more anyway.

So I sit down and play Company of Heroes for a while, fun stuff. I quit it because I'm pissed off at the fact that I'm having bombs dropped on an invisible sniper, with no units around to spot the sniper. At this time, winamp's playing Black Sabbath - Supernaut. One of my personal favorite songs.

Then...I feel the suction leave my right ear and the sound quit in that. I look over, and to my horror the right ear bud fell out. But only the actual speaker-- the plastic piece was still IN my ear. And I put these suckers in deep, so it's not right there to be pulled out easily. I go into the other room, ask for tweezers. I get them, and my mother asked what happened. I just tell my dad to help me get a plastic thing out of my ear, and explain it to him as he's getting it out. Needless to say, they laughed at me when my dad heard and he told my mom.

Oh, and the whole ****ing earbud just popped out again. Damn I have small ear canals...

This has got to stop though. I paid $50 for these, they better ****ing work. And soon (half an hour from now) I'm putting in another $10 for more of thsoe damn ear wax covers.

So yeah.
I had a blog. It sucked.

You are too young to use R rated Monty Python movies as your thread titles

I have these spiffy retractable headphones. Pretty portable to me.

I'm almost positive that "And Now For Something Completely Different" was PG or PG-13.

They aren't earbuds, they're IEM's. And IEM's >>>>> Headphones, period, as far as portable sound goes. If you wanna drop a couple hundred on headphones, though, go right ahead. I'll stick with my E2c's and total sound isolation though.

Not nearly as portable though. Pretty portable, not as portable. The size of the E2c's carrying case is less than the size of one headphone, ffs.

The only thing I don't like about IEMs is cleaning them.

That, and my left ear gently pushes even the "best" IEMs out.

(Hahaha, try returning something you stick in your ear some time.)

In addition to the comments that it is PG, i remind you that people under 17 are allowed to watch R rated films if either the person buying it is over 17 in the case of videos/dvds or accompnying them (also includes seeing it at the movies as well as buying it)

A. Looks like an earbud to me.
B. I don't care if they sound like perfection, they're still earbuds.
C. They hurt like hell, all of them. Every single one.
D. They get nasty, quick, even on the cleanest of ears.
E. They have maintenance costs (as noted above)
F. "Total sound isolation" my ***.
G. Headphones > Earbuds
