Since we had a WoW thread.

I was just curious if those of you who still play out there like to roleplay at all? I know the majority of people here play on PvE servers but I'm just curious.

By roleplay I mean playing in character and pretty much acting, rather than going "lolol i ownzed this here ugly troll! rofl GANKED!"

Yes, I enjoy roleplaying in most games, but it's hard to find on WoW. Sadly, the RP and RPPVP servers (One of which I have a very well thought out mage on) are riddled with retards, and the GMs no longer keep up with the RP server policy.

Bored with WoW currently... Bring on Burning Crusade!

Going from 60-70 should be fun, and I love the new Hunter spells and talents.

If by roleplay you mean be all like "lol I'm in ur base killin ur d00dz" then yes.

Otherwise, no.

WoW roleplaying is usually equivalent to bashing your head against the wall. At least, it gives the same effect.

Sadly, DJ-Yoshi speaks the truth. Because of the abundance of turds on RP servers, it's hard to RP. However, if you do get into a good group of people, it's fun to watch people start fights with you because you're RPing on an RP server.

Oh well.

Agreed, I do it as much as I can and just ignore the idiots. I know total immersion is hopeless at this point but I do what I can. Its always fun when you manage to find yourself a good rp guild (though alot advertise as such and are wholy misleading).

Normally I always manage to find me a person or three that will form a rp duo / trio with me. Back last year I had this friend called Kierin, whom my character and her's (or his wtvr) had an extensive backstory, and also druids brother and sister.

Right now I don't have significant partners but I'll find some a new. Right now I have this crazy druid stalking me, rofl.

I'd love to RP horde, but it seems that horde never has any RP going on.

I'm hoping to RP a Draenei (I'd RP a blood elf, but I want my blood elf to be on the current server I'm on, which is PVP) come expansion, but with the new races the RP servers will be filled with more retards than ever. Meh, I'll stick to Forum RPing for now.

I have the client but no account, since it's publically available. Just using it for model viwer ATM, and I must say, <3333 Draenei gun animations.

Has been a long time since i did the MMORPG thing (played Asheron's Call in the day a lot) and longer since I RPed. I kinda would like to try and get back into some RPing with WoW. Any tips for the omqnoob?

I RP as in I talk normally, without lols and omq and roffles. I speak as if I were an intelligent, schooled human, in the body of a troll.

Well, the beta FINALLY finished downloading after taking all night and all day! That blizzard downloader is such a piece of crap. Blizzard really should stop this non-sense with distributing everything via p2p. It would had taken only 2 hours or so if it was a direct download.

Anyway, it's installing now so I'm getting really giddity to start playing. I've been waiting for this beta since March ever since I won a spot on the beta because of that leveling contest. I heard that beta testers aren't under a NDA like the alpha testers were so I should be allowed to post screenshots from the beta. See you guys later in like... I don't know... when does the beta end? :P

Yes, the NDA has been lifted, so show us the goods or go to hell.

I just bought WoW

I don't know if I'll install it this weekend, or if I want to try it right now. But I have it.
I had a blog. It sucked.

I just got WoW this week as well - $5 for the software, $15 for the one-month subscription so, if it sucks, I don't lose too much.

So far, I'm enjoying it. Eilaszune the warrior Night Elf on Khaz Modan, if anyone's interested.

I rerolled a priest (I think last I posted here I was playing an NE warrior) for the expansion. It sucked doing BWL with a guild that was just learning it, and I miss seeing new aq/naxx content, but I think I'll be happier with my priest when the expansion lands over my warrior.
