Oh how the mighty have fallen...

*Copied from a MySpace Message to a friend of mine*

The lack of the CD I was searching for depressed me. But I generally cope with these things well. Today was an exception.

I walked to the computer game section. Hmm...they didn't have Painkiller, they didn't have Medal of Honor Allied Assault. What did they have?

My eyes stumbled upon World of Warcraft. No, I told myself. I can't do it. But everyone does it said a voice in my head. Why can't you?

I picked up the box. Hmm...kind of heavy for a PC game. Over to my mother I walked. I was out $9 for the $20 game, so this just meant no allowance the following week. I'd survive.

I now have the game laying 1 foot behind me and to my right. I opened it, I haven't taken out an CDs, and only glanced at the manual. Should I install it or wait til sometime with a long break?

To install or not to install...THAT is the question.

------------------------------------------------------------

Should I install the game this weekend? Should I play it? I am truly split.
I had a blog. It sucked.

Right now. Do it right now.

Then make a horde character on Mal'Ganis and hit up Nilkej.

DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS MAN.

He lies. Smolderthorn is nothing but a desolate wasteland, drawing you in with it's mirages, and it keeps ahold of you until there is nothing left of you!

Mal'Ganis however is a paradise, one that is filled with your wildest dreams

edit: that, and we also have Skimpy and Gonk.

edit2: and I think Jon`C plays (played?) on Ganis. not sure though.

edit 3: we also have most of the goon population that plays WoW

I remember Gonk and Skimpy! Gonk was cool, as was Skimpy!

If I install it, and then uninstall it, will the remaining free time stay? IE 27 days left on my free time, and I uninstall it 3 days in, can I keep the 27 days?

I have something important coming up in this following week or so, so I may just get myself aquainted with the game and quit for a bit.

Is Mal`Ganis PVP? And what class is preferrable for Horde? I assume most Massassians play Horde.

Mal'Ganis is VERY PvP.

Pick any class you like, though I would recommend starting with something thats easy to solo with, like a Rogue or a Hunter. Shaman is also good. Races don't really matter, so pick what looks coolest to you.

Haha, that won't happen, your life will now revolve around WoW, when you are away from your computer the only thing that you'll think of is WoW and how you'd rather be playing it.

I'm generally pretty good at not getting addicted to games, or limiting myself until a time when addiction is possible. 2 hours a night hopefully will be enough.

He already bought the game, not playing it at all would be a waste.

I got bored at about level thirty. I realized, "Why am I doing this? I don't care about making my guy better, it's all the same." So I quit.

Then I had a similar revelation about life and now I'm depressed.

It's a game that bankrupted many people's credit accounts recently because Blizzard's Character Transfer System was completely screwed for EIGHT DAYS.

Story

To summarize, Blizzard's transfer system was down for eight days, and during this period, every time someone went to transfer their character, their account was charged, REGARDLESS of the fact it wasn't going through. And Blizzard? They just kinda sat around for seven of those eight days before finally admitting things were screwed up to a guy on the phone, and that people we being charged for every attempt, failed or not.

Reasons like that right there are why I will NEVER, EVER pay to play a game beyond the cost at retail.

Don't worry Kirby. I'm limiting myself to 2 hours a night except for weekends. It's currently updating and should be done in the morning. Tomorrow afternoon I'm gonna play it for a loooong time.

And I've got something happening this week that should hopefully keep me from addiction to WoW.

My theory is that having both WoW and a girl to start with will work better for keeping addiction to the former at a minimum, as opposed to starting with a WoW addiction and completely ignoring said girl.

Agreed..

I had a email conversation with a girl I work with (same bank, different branch) yesterday...she said she used to have a boyfriend who called her several hours before prom and said he wasn't taking her because he had just bought a new computer game and wanted to play it.

...

True story. No wonder why he is now an ex.
