Well, I booted up DF the other day, and was playing around for a while. I noticed that I hadn't died at all.. then I stood still, and noticed that whenever someone fires at me, it bounces off of me.. Which is fun, but a little odd.
Is this a known problem? How can I fix it?

You have Super Shield on. Turn it off in the options menu.

Check your options you have the super sheild slide bar set to full.

Yah, it's a cheat. I think you can turn it off by typing 'dfinvul' or something (could be wrong; this is from memory, I haven't played this game in ages). No console needed, just type it in-game.

Alright, does this stay on even if I haven't played the game in 5 years? Is there a turnallcheatsoff cheat? Thanks.

But its not a cheat... its an option...

His Esc, go to the game Options, and move the 'Super Shield' bar to the red position (left?).

There is, however a cheat that can be enabled ingame, "laimlame".

That was back when the concept of not cheating in games because challenge is good was lost on me.

laimlame is not the same thing as the super shield. The supershield does not protect against melee attacks and falls, whereas laimlame is full invincibility.
