One sticker away?

To make a short story even shorter, I was driving for hours over the weekend and stopped at a McDonalds on the highway. Normally, I stay away from this crappy fast food chain, but I needed something to keep me awake. After eating a greasy meal, I tore off these "Monopoly" game pieces that were glued to the outside of the goods.

Interesting enough, I got 2 yellow-marked stickers (Marvin Gardens and Altantic Avenue); 2 out of 3 stickers for the prize of $10,000 are now collected. Now, I don't go to McDonalds often at all, so I'm not caring too much of this Monopoly contest to collect little stickers. But I'm guessing that McDonalds doesn't print that 3rd sticker (Ventnor Avenue) very often in order to draw people back to the joint by making them believe that they are so close to winning?

[sub]...does anyone have that last sticker?[/sub]

I only eat McDonalds about once a month, even if that.
<Lyme> I got Fight Club for 6.98 at walmart.

yep, that's how it works. For example, Park Place is fairly common but boardwalk is very VERY rare. They're devious, aren't they?

My aquaintance is convinced he's gonna get all the railroads. I just laugh at him because I know there's probably about 2 or those last railroads. They make railroads seem to common, and then they dont' have the last one.
I had a blog. It sucked.

Well, I'll be damned.

I got [and then lost...] one of the railroads... I understand they are rare, eh?
2006-10-16, 7:29 PM #9
Um no. Only one railroad is rare.

If you lost the rare railroad I think you're going to hell.

So I'm guessing, odds are, someone probably threw away that rare game piece because he/she doesn't care about stickers on food?

That wasn't for the $1,000,000 prize last year I safely assume?

I often ponder the morality of pulling the fire alarm and grabbing a huge stack of sticker-bearing beverage cups as people are fleeing for their lives.

Chances are you would still lose.

A while ago I got Regent Street and Bond street, but I never went back to McDonalds while they still had that going, so I never managed to get Oxford.

HA! None of you have any idea what I'm talking about.
nope.

I'm guessing that the British version of Monopoly has street names relating to places in GB.

London to be precise.
nope.

Australia's main monopoly board is the London one too. There is an 'aussie' board you can get, but I've never met anyone who's bought it.

Half the board would be the outback and instead of railroads it would have kangaroo couriers.

That's the idea. Print only a couple of the rare pieces, and due to the number of people that don't care and just throw away their pieces or lose them, there never is a winner, and McDonalds makes money off of people thinking they're about to get the rare piece.

You know the second chance draw stuff? Some people actually send them in, -and- they do actually win the unclaimed stuff.
